Shabby Farmhouse, Barn, & Vineyard
Shabby Farmhouse, Barn, & Vineyard (Location 22)

This residence gives the impression that it has seen much use and that its owners have had little time for improving its appearance. A small infant is playing next to the house, and several chickens and a huge rooster poke about the yard.

Re: Shabby Farmhouse, Barn, & Vineyard
I come to a stop on the path, "Hang on, Aymery."
Pondering to myself for a moment I then say, "Should we make our presence known to the owners of this house or simply take what we came for and leave an offering? After what we saw at the shop odds are these people have been touched in the head much the same way, if what Umbra told me is true about the two men watching our every move. Which I am inclined to believe."

Aymery responds quietly. "Best not to involve the householders, I think. You go ahead and do what you came to do; I'll wait here. If the two following us split up, I'll try to take one out quickly."

OOC: Aymery, go ahead and roll an appropriate Background + Attribute (maybe Str) + Level with a DC 15 to get rid of the pursuers. Success, you can describe taking them out. Failure, you can describe taking them out but lose a Recovery (from a hit).

Re: Shabby Farmhouse, Barn, & Vineyard
OOC: I'm going to attempt to stealth over to the vineyard to get some grapes. (it sounds so silly! Grapes.)
04:48, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 25 using 1d20+7. Sneaking through the grapevines.
So that's Dex+2, level and background+4 if I can include Forest Guardian for a +7 total.
25 if I can include my background trait, 21 without.

With Aymery covering me, I head decisively off the path and into a slightly more wooded area, making a roundabout route to the grapevines. Once there I quickly load the hermit's wooden bowl with the plumpest fruits I can reasonably find, then lay a silver coin on top of a stake post as thanks. Umbra ruffles his feathers, disappointed to be losing a shiny, but remains silent.
I move back to cover and make my way back towards Aymery.

OOC: Laas succeeds at stealing some grapes. Aymery can work that into his description of taking out the pursuers if he wishes.

Re: Shabby Farmhouse, Barn, & Vineyard
[OOC: Aymery Guironne rolled 14 using 1d20. Get the drop on the watchers.  Plus Army Deserter 5, STR +3, & Level 1. Total: 23.]

I've outsmarted better pursuits than this; the Emperor's troops are no joke. Aymery thinks, as he waits with affected boredom. Soon enough, one of the shadowy figures moves away, following Laas into the neat rows of the vineyard. The other shadowy figure couldn't help but watch as he did so...

Aymery's forearm is around the shadow's throat before he looks back! Have to get this one silently, or alert the other...

He catches up to the other pursuer just as Laas places the silver coin. A tap on the shoulder, followed by a right to the jaw, and the skulker joined his companion in the land of blissful unconsciousness.

[OOC: Don't tell me, let me guess: These guys are the Constable's two cronies, right?]

OOC: Actually, they are Sheska's brothers.  :)   (So, one big and one skinny villager that Aymery has not seen before.)
Nice descriptions of the events here for both of you. Go ahead and proceed to the Grove of Stately Elms thread with your companions if you have nothing else at this house.

OOC: I did not STEAL them! I made an equivalent exchange!
