OOC: Solrin and Laas can act.
Everything is nearby, but the Archer Stirge is hard to engage without flying.

Faster than most could see, Solrin brings the shield back down after blocking the barb, at the same time his spear darts out in a well practiced attack.

One of the three diving insects takes a nasty stab from Solris' spear and pulls back in it's attack, dripping goo.

OOC: 23:32, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 1 using 1d3. Targets.
23:34, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 8 using 1d20+5. Rain of Acorns.

Laas tries to get behind Solrin, coaxing the trees to use their seeds as missiles, but his concentration is off.

The stirge with 6hp takes 2 more damage.

Don't worry about expending the points Solrin, Rain of Acorns is an at-will and that was a pretty feeble attempt, we'll save it for later.

OOC: Top of new round, the Archer Stirge fires a barb.
Grimmshade rolled 20 using 1d20+9
Solrin takes 3 damage and 3 ONGOING damage (save ends)

The brightly colored stirge in the air fires another barbed dart at Solrin while he fends off the three stingers. The dart strikes him on the cheek, digging in.

Laas tries to focus his mind once more, summoning up the aid of the very forest around them to strike down the horrid bugs swarming Solrin.

OOC: 02:24, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 18 using 1d20+6. Rain of Acorns.
02:23, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 21 using 1d20+6. Rain of Acorns.

02:21, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 3 using 1d3. Target stirges.

2 hits and one miss, that's vs. PD by the way.

02:26, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 7 using 1d4+3. Damage.

Acorns whistle down out of the boughs, colliding with the slower, injured stirges.

OOC: Solrin friend, before your next action I can interrupt your move to begin a regenerating heal on you if you like? (You still get your turn as normal of course, that's simply when I must cast it)

Re: Bhir Vedi's Tower
The injured Stirge and the one attached to Solrin are battered to the ground by Laas' spell.

OOC: Grimmshade rolled 26,28 using d20+7,d20+9 ((19,19))
Solrin takes 2 Damage from the remaining normal Stirge, and 3 damage + 3 more ongoing from the archer Stirge.
Because it rolled 16+ on it's attack, it gives the normal Stirge another free attack!
Grimmshade rolled 20 using 1d20+7 ((13))
Solrin takes 2 more damage.
Total results are Solrin takes a total of 7 HP damage, and has 3+3 Ongoing!

The remaining normal Stirge digs it's claws into Solrin. The Archer Stirge fires another barbed dart into his flesh, and while he is distracted the attached Stirge digs it's claws deeper.

OOC: The PC's are up!
It's round 3. If the normal stirge is still alive and engaged with Solrin on it's next action it can do a drain attack.
There is one Normal Stirge engaged with Solrin, and one Archer Stirge up in the air. Everything is Nearby.
Escalation is +2

Almost instinctively Quoril unleashes a Magic Missle at the Strige attached to Solrin. With a gesture and a magic incantation, a beautiful , spectral Elven huntress appears and shoots an unerring arrow of our magical force at the Stirge.

OOC: auto hit with small damage, but I'll take the auto hit . Adding 1 for my gunslinger wand.

The Stirge attached to Solrin takes a hit from the magic arrow, and then a wound from Solrin's spear. The detestable thing is stuck tight to Solrin still, attempting to drain some blood.

OOC: The Stirge on Solrin has 10 HP. The Archer Stirge in the air is undamaged, but low on morale.

After Laas bashes in the head of thed Stirge attached to Solrin, the Archer Stirge flies back further into the forest, where the adventurers can see glimpses of a large mud nest formed between several trees.

"There may be left-over trinkets or coin inside the nest that could be re-purposed, perhaps to secure better transport. Either way these creatures will continue to be a hazard." Laas examines the corpses of the bugs one at a time.

OOC: Can I attempt to harvest the mouth-parts of the dead stirges? The needly bits? I'm thinking with the right herbs Laas could fashion some blow-darts in some down time.

Re: Bhir Vedi's Tower
Laas is able to harvest needles and also some bits that can be used in a healing potion.
With the proper herbs, both a healing potion, and some sleep or poison darts could be crafted.

The elves in the party who have been to the Queen's Court in the Queen's Wood know that stirges are a common site among the court Elves, kept from stinging with exotic perfumes and magic.
The Archmage uses them to collect blood samples from offenders.
The High Druid can sometimes be contacted from a Stirge Hive, but only if no Stirge are killed.

Halfling, Gnomes, and Dwarves especially despise Stirge.
