Temple of Brighid
The Temple of Brighid lies just outside the small farming community of Miller's Way. As in the nearby City of Concord, the villages are a mix of barbaric humans, wood elves, gnomes, halflings, dwarves, centaurs, and other assorted species.

The Temple itself is made of stone, and overgrown with vine. It has a large everburning fire cauldron at the top of the steps, with a statue of the Goddess Brighid over the front entrance. Inside, Brighid's temple maidens hand out blessings, potions, and other aid to worshippers.

Re: Temple of Brighid
After four days journey in the Halfling's Wagon, the party nears the Temple.

The sounds of Hooves is heard, and a female centaur prances around a bend in the road and up to the adventurers wagon. The centaur bends forelegs in a slight bow to Laas.
"I am Ayla, of the Concord Clan. The High Druid sends me to warn you of an impending attack on the Temple here, and ask for your aid."

Re: Temple of Brighid
"Hello Ayla. If the High Druid sent you then you likely already know who I am. These are my companions," He introduces them each in turn to the lady centaur.
"It's funny you should ask for our aid, it seems we're here for that very purpose already. Or is there perhaps another impending attack we should know of?" He tilts his head to one side, one eyebrow slightly raised.

Re: Temple of Brighid
"The one called Tay'd, The Priestess, sends her Clerics to attack the Temple. So says the land."
The centaur shifts her quiver.

"And so we have also heard, Ayla. It seems we are here to help you and yours. May we speak somewhere privately?"

Ivric's eyes take in the surrounds as the conversation continues.

Re: Temple of Brighid
The land approaching the village of Miller's Way and the Temple is surrounded by fields, wooded glens, and flowing brooks.
The centaur tilts her head at Ivric, "We may speak anywhere."

Re: Temple of Brighid
"As you say. I suggest we pool our knowledge, though mine is not great. Tay'd believes the northern lands need to be united under the gods of light to battle the Lich King. I believe that, even if this were so, the sun priests would not easily relinquish that 'unification.'

"She wants the farmers worshiping Hestia. Conversion is . . . not that simple, in either wish or deed. We want to see the people here defended against that conversion.

"Do you have any information on the forces being sent? Clerics, of course, but how many and with what aid?"

Re: Temple of Brighid
Ayla stamps at the dirt of the road with a hooved foot, watching the dust swirl.
"I do not know much of the Priestess and her Lords of Light. I have lived with my clan here in the north for my whole life. I think the word Inquisitor was used by the birds that spoke to me."

The Inquisitors are men and women devoted to the Lords of Light whom the Priestess sends to root out Demon worship, and the followers of the Lich. Usually they are part warrior, part holy man, and travel either alone, in a set of three, or with a group of soldiers.

Re: Temple of Brighid
"Wonderful. The cretins of light come to cleanse the land. I certainly hope they try to cleanse me. They will find not all who use my arts are so easily defeated. Though I serve not the Lich King, I am not averse to destroying those who seek death," Baenix spoke, sneering at the thought of such narrow-minded fools.

Shaking his head, he idly drew runes of necromantic magic in the dirt as if practicing with the bottom of his staff.

"Inquisitor?" Ivric sighs. "You might get your wish, Baenix. Ayla, what defenses do you have? Or defenders?"

"I have my bow. The Temple is not really defended, there is no need. The community supports it. I suppose some villagers or clan members could be gathered."

In reply to Grimmshade (msg # 11):

Quoril stands taking al this in.

As insane as wizards are...we cannot match the zeal and insanity of religions. he mumbles

Then he speaks more to the others.

Of course, we can't standby while innocent lives being lost.

He turns to Laas

This is insane, it seems that many factions want to save this area by subjugating it. Friend Laas, have you dealt with the Priestesses warriors before? Can we end this without bloodshed.
