In reply to Ivric Twotoes (msg # 50):

Qoril speaks the incantation calling forth an army of sprites. They each carry a tiny bag of colored dust. The sprites dive at the Ghoul, the Wraith and the Horse with their psychedelic weapons.

OOC: Color Spray 1d4 nearby enemies,  vs MD , 2db psychic dmg and if that leaves the opponent with less that 10 hp they are weakened. Cast as an at will when ESC is even

+10 ( 4 INT +3 LVL +1 WAND +2 ESC)

14:39, Today: Quoril Silversgleaming rolled 17 using 1d20+10. Color Spray

14:40, Today: Quoril Silversgleaming rolled 20 using 4d8+1. Potential DMG

OOC: Grimmshade rolled 2 using 1d4
Grimmshade rolled 20 using 1d20+10
Rolled for number of enemies attacked by the spell, and Quoril's second "to hit" roll.

The army of Sprites swarm around the enemies. The Wight and the Ghoul both swing and swat at the Sprites, but then begin to scream as the bags of colored dust are poured around them. After a flurry of color, both the Ghoul and the Wight fall motionless to the ground. The Wight begins to shimmer a cold blue and fade from existence.
Only the Rotting Steed remains.

OOC: Dwalin and Laas may act!

Impressed by Quoril's powerful magics, not that he'd ever admit it to the elf, the warrior turns and steps towards the steed seeking to put an end to this ambush.

(03:26, Today: Dwalin Firefoot rolled 15 using 3d8+4 with rolls of 4,3,4. Damage (if hit, otherwise 3).
03:24, Today: Dwalin Firefoot rolled 18 using 1d20+9 with rolls of 9. Attack Steed.

Carve an Opening, Crit range is now 18-20. AC drops back to normal (19). )

Dwalin hits the beast with enough force to pulp a section of it's rotting flesh, much like smacking a hanging side of beef with his hammer, but the undead steed continues it's mindless assault.

Laas lunges at the foul steed, seeking an end to this undead taint in his home.

00:43, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 18 using 1d20+11. Attack vs. Zombie Horse.
An even hit, d10 damage.
00:44, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 21 using 3d10+4. Damage.

I also heal 4 from Regeneration and make a save to keep the effect going.

Re: Stone Glade Forest
Laas rips chunks of the horrid steed's flesh away as the beast rears up and brings it's hooves down at Dwalin.

OOC: Grimmshade rolled 24 using 1d20+7 ((17))
Because the attack was natural 16+ the Steed does an extra 2d6 to Dwalin and itself!
Grimmshade rolled 10 using 2d6
Dwalin takes 30 HP damage total!

The beast repeatedly smashes down with hooves and weight on the Dwarf Fighter. While doing so, it rips off more pieces of it's own flesh and bone, eventually sending it into a ghastly thrashing that threatens both Dwalin and Laas, battering both of them.

OOC: Because the Steed is now Staggered, it gets a free Ghastly Thrashing attack on Laas and Dwalin, vs PD
Grimmshade rolled 22,25 using d20+7,d20+7 ((15,18))
Both Laas and Dwalin take 15 HP Damage!

It's a new Round
OOC: Initiative
28 Quoril

21 Dwalin - Engaged with Steed
18 Laas - Engaged with Steed

Grimacing, Ivric reaches back to his temple history. He does not invoke the Gods of Light, but rather one of his own silent choosing. Whichever god it is, his allies are invigorated for the fight. The halfling then vanishes into the shelter of the trees.

Move if needed to get Dwalin, Laas, and Quoril all Nearby.

Cast Divine Endurance for broad effect: They each gain 20thp.

If I haven't already moved, attempt to regain cover: 34. Awesome. Now I get not only double digits, but a 20. :P

07:26, Today: Ivric Twotoes rolled 34 using 1d20+14. Regain cover.

Quoril's dual nature pull against him. He can sense his connections to the Elven, stretching back through all time and connected to all elves. However, he can also feel the power of the fey all around him in this place of Druidic power. His magic is torn asunder.

Gratefully bolstered by Ivric's spell, Laas feels the drive to put this thing down renewed. With a defiant howl he throws his head back, and the power of this druidic glade comes flooding out, renewing him and Dwalin both.

OOC: Casting Wild Heal (quick action). Myself and one nearby ally can heal using a recovery. That's you Dwalin!
05:56, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 9 using 3d6+3. Recovery. (Hahah)

He refocuses and attacks.

05:58, Today: Laas Yah-Nir rolled 21 using 1d20+12. Attack vs. Zombie Horse.

Laas rips and tears at the zombie beast, till parts of it are just broken bone and shredded rotting flesh.

Part of it bursts with a putrid spray, showering Laas and Dwalin with disgusting ooze.

Laas and Dwalin each take 3 ONGOING HP Damage from the stench.

Oops. Already used Archery this fight. So my 2 stands. And back in cover.

Dwalin slammed his hammer against the steed to little effect. The power unleashed from Ivric seemed to carry the stench away from the dwarf leaving him unaffected by it.

(08:47, Today: Dwalin Firefoot rolled 12 using 1d20+11 with rolls of 1. Attack Steed.

Miss 3 damage.

Another terribly low roll, a 1 no less. The d20 is such a frustrating dice type.

08:49, Today: Dwalin Firefoot rolled 15 using 1d20 with rolls of 15. Save.

At least I saved though, the first ongoing goes to the THP, so that is at 17/20.)

OOC: the Wight is dead, so Ivric only target would be the Rotting Steed, which only has an AC of 14, meaning Ivric hits!
I rolled damage for Ivric: Grimmshade rolled 24 using 3d8+4.
This kills the Steed!

Ivric's arrow pierces the rotting steed squarely between the eyes, and the undead beast collapses on the ground, a heavy pile of rotting carcass.

OOC: Everyone can take a Long Rest, refreshing all Recoveries, HP, and Powers.

Laas shifts back to his humanoid form and sits on a rock to collect himself.
"I  honestly have no clue. It seemed intent on ending us all though. The Lich King and his servants represent unlife, perhaps they wished to simply blight this place of nature, to further his cause. In any case he failed and I am thankful for that." He looks at each member of his party in turn, nodding his thanks.
"I hope my garb is still intact..." He moves over by Ivric and pokes at the wight with his staff in turn, "And I'll need to cleanse this entire glade."

Laas finds his "den" unharmed. Inside is his druidic mantle.
His crow friend lands and caws loudly, informing him of recent happenings:
Saurians flock to Throne Point. Due to the Archmage's magic in the area, an ancient evil is awakened. The evil sent the Wight to kill Laas and claim the forest. The Naga the heroes destroyed in the tower was just a harbinger. The Reptile God has power over all Saurians, as well as some power over the dead. It plans to take back the lands. Unless someone enters the ancient ruins and destroys him, his power will grow.
