Re: OOC

I have used this before and it works OK.  That said I had no problem with your previous system either.

Re: OOC

I can see it.  Any reason why you're dissatisfied with Google maps?

I think our problem is not knowing where everybody is, but keeping track of effects and defenses.

For example, knowing enemy defenses would speed up the attack-spend benny-confirm loop a bit.

Re: OOC

I am already on Roll20 but have not used it before. It will mean more work but you might ended up using both systems for the time being to test things out.

Re: OOC

I am looking at use of Roll20 so I can use the "fog of war" effects. So far, I have had to make screenshots of maps and paste them in so as not to reveal the next section instead of using one map. This has slowed down our updates.

Agreed that it is challenging to keep track of effects; that has always been the case in 4e. My big bugaboo is keeping track of auras. Just the nature of the system, though.

I will never disclose enemy defenses, guys, sorry. There is waaaaaay too much metagame stuff going on in 4e to begin with; posting the defenses just takes away the last little bit of mystery, and eliminates the benefit of having knowledge skills and making rolls to know things. It's also more accounting work for me, which is already a burden in a 4e game.

I appreciate the suggestion of trying both. As above, though, that is too much work for me in a game that is already plenty of work to maintain (by my standards).

Please log onto the Roll20 game and try manipulating minis in the next couple of days. Let me know if you run into problems.

Head's up--because of a busy day, look for an update from me tomorrow.

Reminder to give me your feedback on Roll20 in the mean time.

Re: OOC

Make that two busy days. I haven't had a ton of busy weeks in the new job, but this is one of them. Update tomorrow from me!

If you don't roll initiative by the time everyone else does, I'll roll for you, though I would prefer if you rolled for yourself, naturally.

Re: OOC

FYI, the Great and Terrible Bone Witch will be exiting the game due to real life issues. Nobody be alarmed when she suddenly vanishes in the IC game--that is a DM fiat, not a fancy effect that you need to worry about being replicated on you :-)

I'm not going to replace her with another PC right now, since we just added another striker. I'll just scale this combat down a tiny touch. :-)

FYI, I am splitting up turns for the two controllers so that your effects don't step on each other.

Yes, it does, unless you want to re-mark the death knight.

Re: OOC

I don't know anything about that kind of marking (Aegis stuff) so I have no way of knowing which would be preferable.  But Harald might know the difference.  Can someone explain which would be best in this situation?

Re: OOC

I guess it depends of the DK has an attack that can hit Nemeroff. If the DK attacks anyone else and does not include him, then the attack is at -2 and if it still hits he gets a free MBA in him (teleporting 10 if needed.)

Re: OOC

The main thing that Harald's mark does for us is preventing the guy from shifting away. We have to decide how important that is to us pretty fast :-)

I normally vote for Nemeroff's Aegis, but in this case if you teleport out you may end up surrounded by yet-to-be-seen bad guys. Better for Harald to mark him so he can't get away and cork up the door.

Re: OOC

Nemeroff, if you want to adjust your turn and use your minor for something else, you can.

Turn coming in a bit--lots of NPCs to move around.

Re: OOC

There's plenty of other benefits I get from crits, but none of them really make much difference when my target is already dead. All I get is one very very dead ghoul.
