Are any of you in a game run by a fellow named LonePaladin, by any chance?

Nope, but I played a bit with him in the past. What's the problem ?

Regarding our game, I will try to post something tomorrow morning.

No, but we are both part of a 4E discussion board.

Re: OOC #2

Nothing world-ending--I was upset with the fellow for some sloppy DMing and (fairly mildly) expressed my dismay via PM and he banned me from his game :-)

To his credit, when I sent an apology via rMail he accepted the apology and is allowing me back in. I've just not experienced a DM who pulled the "ban-switch" as fast as he did. It was disconcerting.

Re: OOC #2

Interesting.  I recently applied to another Classic D&D game by another GM (at least I think it was another GM).  He accepted me instantly and asked for a piece of writing from another D&D game.  I sent a copy of one of Harald's posts and I was instantly dropped.  I could nearly hear the shrieks!  something along the lines of:

'OMG What is this?  How can you tell the dragon was knocked prone?  You should have waited for the results from the GM!  What rules are these you are playing?  This is not D&D!'

To be fair I had said that the post was from 4th ed and not Classic D&D but that didn't seem to matter.  I even replied and explained once more that this was a high level 4th ed game and he did quieten a little - but not enough to let me back in.  WHich I was glad of.  I doubt I could have coped for long with what seemed to be his methods.

Re: OOC #2

That's surreal. To be fair, I would have recommended your writing from one or two of my other games that you're in instead of Harald--the accent is only entertaining to some :-)

Re: OOC #2

The funny thing is that there's a city in the US state of Michigan called Hell. It's about, oh, 50 miles from where I live. They host events like "The Run from Hell," a charity 5k. Most amusing. I'm guessing you weren't in that Hell, though :-)

Re: OOC #2

Ahah, nope. That was more really hot Hell (Compared to the usual temp here) than an actual city where you can run for charity. :D
But if I go in the state of Michigan one day, I will try to remember it and pass in this city. Or say hi to you. ;)

Re: OOC #2

Funny, there was an old Army joke where the base newspaper had an article about Hell, Michigan freezing over. The next issue, the reenlistment officer posted a notice that all those soldiers that said they would reenlist "when hell froze over" needed to come see him.

And freeze it does, regularly. I live well north of Hell in Michigan and can verify that for you all.

If you come to Michigan, Darratheir, you need to go to Detroit and have Pete buy you drinks. He knows good bars, though his knowledge of wine is weak. He's more of a craft beer guy.

Re: OOC #2

I lost a good pal in Michigan.  I mean I lost contact with him.  No idea where he is now but he was an inveterate game player, especially D&D.  If anyone comes across a mad Welshman named Mike Taylor, tell him to get in touch with Jim.  The address is still the same as when he last visited - 31 years ago!!!

Definitely closer than Sonliin and I. I've driven from Detroit to Florida (to Disney World in Orlando, specifically). Long way that :-)

Couldn't pay me to live there. I rather like cold, believe it or not. Summers are harder on me, even in the upper part of the lower peninsula of Michigan.

Well none of you would like to be in Dublin right now then. Major heatwave!!! Reached 25 degrees celcius three days in a row. In june! Everyone's unable to work or do anything, just constantly drinking beers along the canal and passing out in the parks. Very exciting. Must be like tropical countries. Only rained twice today - thank god for global warming.

Ah yes a good pub Harold. Round the corner from work, I drink here occasionally. I will drink to you next time.
