Ah... now it comes back... OK, so we should all add a point or so to that. and the independent income.

Re: Awards and Treasure

I think I recall spending the point for Base.  If not, I'll go ahead and do so; otherwise, I'll spend one on the "upkeep" income (don't think I had one to spare for that, last time).  Whatever is left, I'll bank against a future increase in Bow skill (my bread and butter).

Edit: just checked, looks like I've had the "Base" perk on my character sheet for a while.  I'm also "Tax Free" since we brought back a live Saturnine for Hadereum, but don't seem to have the "Independent Income" toward house upkeep.  I'll add that once Jareth confirms the cost and setup.  I don't recall what we were paying the porters, so I'll wait on the arithmetic for the coin.

The porters were prepaid for the day... I think.  Leastwise we all gave Nodwin the coin and he handled the hiring (so at worst they simply haven't been paid yet, but the money is already set aside for them).  I'll skimm the thread for that as well while I'm digging for the Base and Independent Income stuff.

Well, now that Mr. McCain has clarified the "No hassles" perk, it might be worth having even for someone who wouldn't be caught dead carrying a long blade.  I think I'll spend one on the "upkeep" for the house, and one on "No Hassles, keep the other in reserve.

Jareth, let me know how much my share of the immense bag o' loot comes to.  ;)  Up to you what you want to do with your map.  I get my benefit just from you having it.

Heh.  Jareth already has the "No Hassles" Perk.  Even though he also doesn't carry a blade, it was as a "just in case it comes in handy" thing (and was 1 pt towards future rank 1).

240$† split 6 ways (Nodwin, Mario, Jovelyn, Brodak, Mel, Jareth) is 40$ each.  Slightly better than one day's pay for a common laborer (and we haven't sold the plays yet or finished running Jareth's errands for more pay!*).

* Jareth still needs to deliver the pair trio of zeds to Bertram at midnight (for 80$) and then sell the bits and pieces to Harbash as worm chow for about 60$ (maybe less as they'll be missing bits).  Maybe... as Jareth kinda forgot he promised them to both Bertram and Harbash...  [innocent whistling]

† Our Narrator isn't counting the $10 bucks (in Jareth's pocket) left from what Rudy paid to have the body moved‡.

‡ Which I was initially not going to bother splitting with the crew, but, eh, it makes the math easier, and plays into Jareth's Laziness...  less math is better math.

Cool beans.  As you note, a bit better than I was earning standing in front of a shop trying to avoid a fatality from sheer boredom.  And we've got a couple nice leads down in the tunnels.

It's only like a buck more....  had I been willing to do the math it would have been 39$ for y'all with Jareth taking 35$ as a short share... but then he'd have that tener all to himself...  but... he isn't Greedy and it really did make the math easier for me.  240 six ways is dead simple.  230 six ways get's complicated fast.  Requires like a calculator or pen and paper.  And that was way too much like work.

You want that played out or just handwaved?

Also why I was asking what time of day it was... if it was ealry enough that we had some more hours of laborer time, or if their 'shift' was was done.

Okay, so our total take for the day... grand total of... [drum roll]

$125 each from selling dead guys and ex-zombies.

The laborers (François and Evaine) each made $30 extra (above what they were prepaid) and got $8 in free drinks.

As a side question, how many points have each us paid into Base?  I think we've each put in 2 points so far?

Re: Awards and Treasure

In reply to Jocelyn Lemru (msg # 93):

If you spent one on upkeep, then you may have hired a servant, who will be
in once or twice a week. She will need $30 when she shows, but will be
reliable and available on a roll of 9. She will clean, cook and be part of
getting this place respectable. If she collectively has 4pts spent on her, she
moves in to one of the other abandoned  buildings in your block and
Contrubutes to the improvement of the neighborhood, but costs $200 per week or $750
per month, and will end up attracting other paying tenants-

Or that was an investment in getting a tenant, from whom you will be seeing $10 a month for a room in one of the other abandoned properties. This will also start attracting more folks.

$200 a week seems rather costly to we who struggle so for our coins ... maybe the $30 route is doable.

Re: Awards and Treasure

Okay... as far as I can tell, we've put 7 points into Base/Independent Income (6 into Base, 1 into Ind Inc (Mario)).  Maybe 1 more?

+3  msg #28 - Jocelyn, Mel, and Brodak in for 1 each.
+1 msg #25 - Nodwin in for 1
+1 msg #76 - Mario confirms he went in for 1

-1 msg #91 - Jocelyn not in for 1?

+1 msg #92 - Mario in for 1 on Ind Inc

And I've got 2 into Base from Jareth.  Jareth will be (at some point) claiming the rooms/house directly above the Bone Gate (the better have Nightmares by...  O_o ).

We need 10 in Base to eventually "control the whole block" (we already do, but this is a "and they won't take it away from us/the GM won't give us hassles or induce dreaded plot over it") and 10 in Independent Income to make it "pay for itself" (so it stops costing us money to fix things - though it will take some dosh investment to get there as well).

As far as a servant.  That's a bit of a vanity project eh?  I know, it'll likely help reduce upkeep costs... but... right now I think steering towards getting 10 in Base and at least 5 in Ind Inc should be primary.

I'm still undecided (Player and Character) on whether or not to bring the Bone Gate to the Guild's attention.  Granted Ludlow has seen it... so that ship has likely sailed.

Copy.  So we're 5 in on Base and 1 in on Ind Inc.

Chye, I have no idea at the moment.
