Re: In the Ninjas' Lair

"That might be an idea..., I saw a haunted house nearby. But I was committed to my present mission, and thus, could not fully investigate...What do we know of the place, according to city records? I could do some research. It might be wise to let things cool off awhile, before an assault...now that we got them all riled up, over there."

Re: In the Ninjas' Lair

"I like that idea.  I know little about that sort of spirit, but it's been my impression that they seldom harm the living -- yet, as noted, Sahudese in particular tend to fear them.  If we could convince an existing ghost to move into the Silver Jade Palace, we might accomplish part of our goal and gain a boon toward the rest.

"I wonder how we might negotiate with a haunting spirit?  Perhaps hire a necromancer?"

"Ho ho ho! It'd be a gift that kept on giving, and bound to hurt their business... can see it now.. upset gambling tables, ghosts in the rooms, nobody wanna work there, or go there. Ha ha ha!" Chye had a good laugh, over the notion.

"Perhaps we can parley with the spirit, once we know it's proper name, and a bit more about what happened at that location it's bound to.. there must be something it wants. What do you think, Senyor Sakemoko?"

"Can I please just burn the place down?" Ales said.  "It would be a whole lot easier than hunting for a ghost, bargaining with them, and then sending them to Akira's restauraunt/ gambling den.

"Besides, it might be easier for one of us, to be a major pest, while the rest of us go down into the belly of the beast."

Re: In the Ninjas' Lair

"There is a spell I know of that might be helpful here.  It creates smoke, but without fire.  The smoke irritates, and blocks vision, because it is real, dense smoke, but it is no more toxic than smoke from a wood fire, so would do little if any harm to innocents, and it dissipates in a few minutes.

"If there is a back way into the kitchens, filling the kitchens with dense smoke that spills into the stairwell and then out into the dining room would result in, at least, a distraction.  It might cause guests and even staff to evacuate the house.  Otherwise, doing the same in the dining room would surely cause diners to leave, though that would be more likely to cause injuries.

"I do not yet know this spell, but I know what I need to learn it, and could do so in little more time than it takes me to walk to the Guild and return."

"This is a different spell.  That one is called 'stench', and if you can't escape it, it will suffocate you.  That's why I had to leave holes in the area for us to breathe in.  The one I refer to now is called 'smoke', and while it irritates the eyes and makes one cough, it does no lasting harm."

"How much easier would that be..." he rolls his eyes.
"Either we hang all on Chou-Zhen learning some new arcane charm, we let Ales burn down the place when most of the neighborhood is made of wood, or we engage a priest or gaijin necromancer to disrupt a restless spirit. I still propose that we enter as if to gamble and then attack!"

"And what, then, will we do about those who are neither part of our group, nor connected with Akira Aku No, aside from losing money in his gambling house?

"We wish to avoid doing harm to the community in general.  That is why burning down the Silver Jade Palace would be a bad idea, and why I believe using smoke without starting a fire, to clear the house, would be better.

"You lack confidence in my magic, Jin, yet you have seen some of the things I can do.  And still you mock the idea of expanding my abilities."

"Chou, you might have misunderstood me', Ales said.  "I was being sarcastic, given the other option of hunting down a ghost and all."

Ales thought for a second. "The kitchen entrance was on the main floor of the restaueaunt, and also accessible from the stairs down to the casino.
I would assume that there is an entrance from the kitchen to the gambling parlors.  After all hungry gamblers aren't happy gamblers."

"What if I conjured up a few snakes to slither into the kitchens?   Or, are snakes revered in Sahud?"

He gave a pointed glare in Chye's direction, though he couldn't help but let a small, thin smile briefly grace his face.

"I was not talking about your manhood, Sahud.  I'm talking in general.  Snakes, good thing or bad thing from where you come from, Chye?"

"Bwahahaha!" Chye laughed. "Snakes, not revered, nor particularly despised... dangerous ones are obviously feared, but no more than any other dangerous creature. Monsoon season, many snakes driven out of their lairs. Snake is on the menu, monsoon season, or in the wine jug, and apothecary's jar. "

"Yeah... ghosts! We eat just about any other "creature" hahaha.."
Chye continued: "Besides, any old creature, if out of place, will most likely be sussed out. Ghosts can appear anywhere, and Sahudese fear spirits, and bad luck they bring. This why we take such care in making sure own own dead are properly assuaged."

Airis just listened and then spoke. "I would think we do not want to disturb a ghost, I think let the dead be. As far as just going in and attacking could cause issues as we then have all sorts of innocents that could be used as shields or fight with the guards. I think we need to get any none enemy out so we can concentrate on them. If the smoke slowly expanded, hopefully the patrons will leave orderly. And if we sneak back in, as the patrons leave, we sneaky types could kill those left behind."

"Regardless... I'm checking this ghost business out on my own time. I just thought I could possibly try and make it work for our benefit, as well. It would be a great asset to harness against our foe, and depending on whether this is a restless shade, or a bound haunt, it might be looking into..."
