Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Narrator (msg # 326):

Broderick assesses the situation as scores of rats pore through the holled wall. Quickly assigniblng Smasher to the largest hoard to dispatch as many as he could. He gets the party to regroup away from any escape path the rats may take.

ooc if this means climbing out of the basement that's what they'll do

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 327):

Above you, Voorland is setting up a winch to lower supplies and hoist Smasher.

The rats scatter as you attack,  their attacks coming concurrent with the bellows of the slorn.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Narrator (msg # 328):

If the group will be able to avoid injury from the rat surges Broderic decides its suitable for them to remain on this level and continue to kill rats. If the number increases to the level where they were taking damage the will relocate to the room above and leave Smasher in the basement to kill as much as he can. Broderic will make note of the frequency and timing of the bellows.

You here a slam upstairs, and the gruff voice of the smith, "Oh, it's  you again."

A slightly out of breath Dolpho appears at the hatchway, a portable writing desk tucked under one arm.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Narrator (msg # 330):

Broderick takes note of this, he wonders if this has something to do with anything else that may be taking place at the same time, a possibility could be it be the time it takes the Slorn to move from one point to another then back, or it may be co-incidental. He decides to mention his finding to Ashbury after they've finished this additional task.

you, ahem, acquired this. Let me see, the ink was capped, good, there is a spare quill, sand, wax and perfect, a lead stylus."

Noticing Ludlow assisting Dolpho with the portable table and accoutrements Broderick looked on with interest. Well done Master Dolpho. Once the paraphernalia was setup Broderic glanced about the group  Would any of you be a skilled Scribe or Artist.

Ooc: a limner could be hired for $30 a day, and $50 in materials could get you 10-12 signs on wood. Hiring a potter would cost the same, and glazed ceramic signs could ve had for $6 each... although it might take 3 days.  You are being paid $20 each...

Re: Broderick's Expedition

Broderick gave Ludlow a nod So you are Master Ludlow, I suspect we can arrange for the signs to be installed after we map the area, at least that way we'll know how many are needed. he agreed then motioned for the group to follow him. Lets see how much we can explore in the short time we have left. Leading the group out of the room through the areas they had passed before to areas they hadn't been.

Within haf n hour, Ludlow has mapped the areas you had explored. You can follow the passage parallel to the water tunnel north or south, or take the western fork the large room with the trebch had opened to before you went east to the north-south passage

Immediately to the west (left) the conduit continues, and has a pair of bronze gates to either side, which you saw as being maintained areas of common space like your main area.

Dolpho kneels and applies oil to the lock to loosen the rust before inserting his picks.
[Private to Broderick Leibert: observation lets you notice behavior, especially patterns, traps lets you see if there are teaps, smuggling lets you hide things. Its reverse, Search, lets you find hiding places where others may have hidden things. Forced entry beeaks down doors loudly, lockpick quietly.]
As far as you can tell, Mercer is better at picking locks than you, and gets the door open smoothly.
