Indeed, such a loss of kin; if these allegations be such you have some serious petitions to be addressed. Have you sought recourse through the relevant channels.

Melchizadek just watched and listened. He did not know enough about the situation, though he had heard plenty of emotion from other trolls.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

Darius, still standing close to the wall, had followed the conversation closely. He must have missed quite a few things during his absence. Still, the faster that situation was defused, the better. It would neither gain them profit nor knowledge. "I understand your sorrow and anger, Rafik. Yet you must remember who was ultimately responsible," he rasped. "If you try to punish everybody associated you will fall against the helpers. If you don't, you can concentrate against the guilty." He closed his eyes for a moment. "It's better that way. Believe me."

"If you do not join the guild, or find credited employment in the city, they will put you in chains, and set you to work as a bondsman. You sound both experienced and skilled, joining the guild would be the smart thing to do, at least while you're above ground."
Grimaldi stated.

"Federjung? You bring up that lazy sorcerer?  I use magic for craft, not to try and steal trollish gold. He was eaten by a dragon for his hubris. Mo true dwarf alive goes that route! We labor at quality, and when we war, we do it in person, not cowering behind pacts with powers. If we had a quarrel, troll, you would know it. I just installed doos and did plastering. Do you have issue with the quality of that work? If not there is morhing between us."

In reply to Rafik (msg # 523):

"I was involved in making peace between Trolls and the guild that sent the witch, so I am not hostile to you or your brethren. Hence, you would do well to listen to my advice. The witch was sent by DuClair, and it could have been any adventurer that he sent. Word is that you attacked them first, and if you had done that with us, the result may have been similar, I don't know. But if you have an issue, it should be with DuClair and him alone. Only a fool blames the tool for the damage it caused...it was the one who directed the tool you need to have issue with, and the best way to do that is to join the guild and turn the guild against him. Otherwise, you will only find yourself fighting the witch again, and many more like her. Has any one of you ever tried to talk to the witch, ever?"

Rafik is wearing a guild badge, suggesting that he has already joined. Indeed, he was greeted by McCain when Broderick had passed him at the guild entrance, and he was eating in the guild hall when the rest of you encountered him.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Rafik (msg # 527):

Realising the Troll was sporting a badge of guild rank. Broderick glanced apologetically at the others, for also leading them to the wrong conclusion about the Trolls membership. Master Rafic, do pardon my oversight and error, I assumed from your comments that you were not a Guilds member. Having just now noticed that you are a Guild Member. Broderick declares indicating the Badge he had noticed. As such, would I be correct to surmise, you have not been able to Pursue your grievances, at the loss of your kin, through Guild Channels? Would any of these also have been Guild Members.

"That sounds as if she has gone to ground," Darius added. "Your best bet seems to be more professional help to find her - but that will be expensive. The bounty from the Slorn should be a first step closer to her."
