Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 478):

As Rank 3 you can propose something to the small council and retain an interest in it. You basically told the hobgoblins that you would look into it, and that is allowable.

Broderick explained the situation to Ashbury without leaving out anything. Suggesting a possible collaboration in this deal.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 481):

"So the ropemakers might like to deal directly with the weavers, instead of going through Twilight House... I have only seen the weaver folk once, keep some of their womenfolk hidden, others wear overly heavy cloaks like they are trying to hide something. Twilight House I care not for, they keep the prices high, and I  find the shadow elves a little sneery. I would back a trade agreement with the weavers... we just need to figure how to approach that secretive lot."

Do you think one of the fours would have any contacts or suggest a possible or should we keep this to ourselves for the moment?

"I think you and I should keep this to ourselves. If a little thing like raw spidersilk could change the price I pay for all my rope, this could be big, something we could take to the small council once all the pieces are in place."

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Ashbury (msg # 484):

Fair enough. Broderick agreed as he contemplated different approaches to try. He's aware that the different Agencies, Consortiums, Guilds and the like all had their secrets and ways of doing things which could at time be quite challenging boarding on lethal. Perhaps we should seek out the Weaver you mentioned and go from there.

I believe a ship from their island is due to dock tomorrow.  I would rather you dealt with them, they make my skin crawl. I hear they all belong to some spider cult, but are inclined to trade in services rather than honest coin."

Broderick considers Ashbury's proposal. Allowing me to undertake negotiations on your behalf, would be greatly assisted by providing an overview of the services you are prepared to offer in this negotiation.

"The weaver folk have a storied history of revenge against their enemies by the hands of others. The shadow elves are known for having few qualms against such work. Whatevervthey ask, it may be strange, but I will pay you to do for them so long as you don't give me the details."

Master Ashbury are You're agreeing to a bottomless purse, provided you don't have to know or participate in any of the outcomes, save that of shared benefits from the silk acquisition and on-selling. Can I get that documented?

Thank you Master Ashbury that is greatly appreciated. Could I acquire a Promissory note to this sum. if Ashbury drafts one Broderick thanks his associate and returns to his apartment to clean up and spend some time with Clair. Several hours later Broderick looks into finding out what he can about The weaver folk eg talking to discrete trusted Mages and Priests associated with the Guild.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 492):

Broderick, Carruthers, Clair, Smasher, Melchizidek, and Grimaldi are in Ashbury 's new property, but not yet in the basement or undercity- Smasher needs to be lowered into the basement by the workmen, Voorland, and Rhonnie, and the kobold rat catchers.

Ooc- do not change scenes in areas where npcs are present. I give you the situation for those.

After Smasher is lowered into the basement, Voorland shows you the extent of the renovations; the problem  wall is now smooth stone, although slightly damp, and the adjacent wall is partially covered.

Darius greeted and introduced himself to the dwarven mage, turning to follow Broderick down the tunnels when he was interrupted by Rafik's accusation. His grip on the staff tightened as he took a few steps to the side, out of the direct line between the troll and dwarfs - for now.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

The trolls declaration hinted at starting a disagreement that may turn nasty. Goodness Rafic, such a tragedy, what happened to the blue haired witch. interjected Broderick intending to diffuse the situation, especially since Rafic has at least one issue the troll should address.
