Broderick rolls his eyes at the fool's statement. Priest you press your irrelevant case, adding insult, yet ignore what has been stated.

Grimadli ignored the bickering and watched the slorn, his face set and determined.

08:39, Today: Grimaldi rolled 12 using 3d6 ((2,6,4)). Loner - 12 or less to succeed. Grimaldi only just barely resists the urge to throw his hands up and walk out on the group. He let out an audible sigh. "We're all professionals here. Let's act like it, Sirrah."

Re: Broderick's Expedition

With the desire to save resources eclipsed by the desire to end this ridiculous situation, Darius took a step in front of the take. A word of power, and a small ball of light appeared in his right hand - at least, for those not magically-gifted. Those with mage sight found almost too bright to look straight at...

[Private to GM: OOC:
Preparation roll (1 used, 4 left):
17:42, Today: Darius Kopaki rolled 12 using 3d6.  Retroactive preparation roll: Arcane Fire vs Arcanum -4 (14).

Next turn will be either aiming for +3 Acc or attacking (rolling against innate (projectile) 13).

The Slorn's demise put an end to the contract, save their return to the Guild.
Well done Masters, I thank those of you who are the true Professionals for that. Does anyone wish a trophy from this creature? If not we shall head back.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

With a flick of his hand, Darius let the ball of light fly into the Slorn. Get some use out of it, at least.
"If you are," he rasped, turning towards the bickering pair, "quite finished now, we can at least search for something... fungible... down here. Before we return to the guild."

With a piece of chalk from his pocket, he drew a rough circle on the flagstones, then began murmuring words of power for a few minutes and, finally, released the spell.

[Private to GM:
OOC: First, drawing a circle.
07:03, Today: Darius Kopaki rolled 9 using 3d6.  Drawing Circle, vs. Ritual Magic (18).

Duration:
07:03, Today: Darius Kopaki rolled 1 using 1d6.  Circle drawing duration.

1 minute.

Now, he'll cast Seek Treasure p. 29 (locates valuables of more than $1000 and provides knowledge of a path to them), excluding the repair-area.

07:07, Today: Darius Kopaki rolled 12 using 3d6.  Seek Treasure, vs Augury-0 (16).

which succeeded.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 676):

Poking the creature to ensure it is dead, Melchizadek will answer.

"It will be you I will be reporting, fool. You needlessly endangered the group because of your stubborn foolishness. If we had not been able to kill it quickly, it could have turned on us and inflicted casualties, casualties you could have avoided. You were lucky, but not wise. But fear not, your foolishness will be reported to the guild, so that future possible companions can be warned of how you stand in the way of the safety of your own members and do nothing when it becomes clear plans must adapt. I will be glad to report what has happened, and call upon witnesses if necessary. For now, you would be best to shut up, for all know of what you did without you polluting the air with your foolish provocations. For now, I will take up your suggestion to return the way I have come."

Melchizadek will not wait for a reply. Checking once more that the creature is dead, he will depart the way he came.

Grimaldi watched with interest as Darius finished his spellcraft. So far he was able to grasp the workings of each new spell he'd observed, and would take notes later.
