Re: Broderick's Expedition

Indeed there was a rat problem as these were driven here by a Sewer Lizard. This was also dispatched on a previous foray. The block and tackle is part of a raising mechanism to assist Smasher to lower and raised himself as required.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

Broderick did the same this way there were two torches providing light for the group. Making their way to the spot they killed the rat thing. Broderick points at the tunnel that it came from. The last forward scout headed in there and flushed out the nasty breast. So we'll see whats there now. waiting for any coment from the Reconnaissance specislist.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 717):

After lowering smasher with a hawser tied around the wel top, you make your way down toward the intersection where the undead spiny rat's remains were.  There are damp wheekmarks and a few broken quills. In the distance, once smasher stops moving, you can hear the squeak of metal wheels.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

The group moved along the tunnel trailing after Timeon so he wouldn't be unsupported if trouble started. Broderick nodded at the fellows efficiency and they continued on. [Private to GM: and I suspect passing the cart and orc handler. Did the cart look like it contains anything of value? Broderick continues the process of mapping the area. ]

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 722):

There is an iron framed and wheeled wooden cart, with the bodies of several rats including the undead one, with a throat slit orc in leather draped over them.
Also present: a shuttered lantern, a short hooked polearm, and a large iton key attached to the orc's belt.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

It appears this orc was collecting these rats for some reason. Would any of you think it could have something to do with giant undead rats. Take the iron Key and hold it up I presume this will also be of use somewhere

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Carruthers (msg # 725):

Broderick presses a finger to his lips then motions for Timeon to take a look to see who spoke. He eyes the iron framed and wheeled wooden cart this may help them to move Smasher about without the telltale clanking of his armour. Tipping the rats off the cart Broderick quietly instructs Smasher to climb into the cart. Once inside it Broderick and Carruthers push it forward.

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 726):

As Timeon steps off, Carruthers and Broderick find that the cart, while able to hold smasher with some creaking, is difficult to move, and squeaks horribly, as if in need of oiling... As the wheels squeak, the plaintive voice wails again,
"Hungry!"
