Alighting on Smashers backpack Phylicity settled comfortably on it, positioned so she could peek over his shoulder in the direction he was going and turning her head to the opposite direction observe anything coming up behind them.

Approaching the gate, there is an odor of dank water,

Once more Clair's hand clasped her mouth and nose, as it attempted to ward of the stench. Someone should do something about this place she mumbled through her hand, her eyes darting about bulged at the thought of encountering anything else disgusting.

Clair my dear, that's why we are here, to clean this place out and make it functional once more. Broderick informed patting his wife's free hand. Turning he lead the others through the gate pausing near the entry to scan the passage ahead.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

In reply to Broderick Leibert (msg # 132):

The passage outside is one of the wider conduits, some four
yards wide and three yards high, in a steeply arched vault.
Fairly smooth slabs of stone or poured concrete make up the
flooring, with a trench about a foot wide and deep on either
side, against the walls. The walls were once plastered over
and set with a frieze of colored tile at shoulder height, but
much of the tile and plaster alike are gone, baring the
stone walls in their roughness.  The conduit heads to the
left and also to the right, where presumably, the rats came ftom.

Moving further into the room Broderic considered the choices in direction. Doing so allowed the  the group to enter as well. The torchs they carried helped him see more of the passages. It looks like whatever drove the rats toward us could down the right passage. I suggest we investigate and deal with what may be there as it could cut of our exit. Any of you have a preferance?

Another gate, Broderick thinks if anything else this place has quite a bit of security. This in itself begs the question why. Pausing he asks those who'd previously visited the underground about threats they have encountered in their forays.

If this stench gets any worse I'd hesitate to suggest that's what drove the rats from this area. Broderick remarks moving cautiously along the passage.

Re: Broderick's Expedition

Broderick was just about to ask if any others had hunted and killed such a beast. Hoping to glean some information as to if the thing they have spotted is a Sewer Crocodile or another type of creature, and how difficult it will be to kill or drive off. When the creature slammed into the gate. Instinctively recoiling from the creatures sudden appearance and attack, Broderick grimaced and lowered his rapier.  Lets Get it chaps he prompts Quickly slashing at it, through the bars, hopefully the gate will hold it and the team can damage it enough to retreat so they can finish it off.
