[Private to Malga'Mar; Narrator: Činit (which in Ogrish means 'amount', 'be', 'come to', 'do', 'exert', 'make', and 'total' - depending on sentence connotation) is a game similar to Odds-Evens (actually it's exactly like Morra, but without a zero, because Ogres aren't that mathematical, so everyone has to throw at least one finger).  Often played by Ogres (children and adults) to determine who has to do something (whether an onerous job or just something funny/humiliating like "Truth or Dare"), as a wagering game, or often just for fun.]

I turn to the shrine and candles and other accouterments.
"Sethygg's will can supplant whatever foul corruption has taken hold here."

[Private to GM: I'm certain I'm unable AND unwilling to consecrate this thing to another god.  What skill do I need to use to consecrate it to Sethygg?  Also, I'm certain they'll reconsecrate it once it's all over and I'd know that.  Don't know if I'm ok with that.  Fanaticism might win out over Dareos' kindness in that regard.]

OOC:  Just a note on where everyone is:

Upstairs:
Jednesa and Malga'mar are in the hall next to the room Jednesa stashed her stuff* in (close to the room the stairs are in - I presume across the hall or next door).

Azrael and Walter are also upstairs.  I presume they are in the room that contains the narrow stairs (optimally placed to easily speak to Jed and Mal and probably anyone immediately down the stairs?  Not sure on this one).

Downstairs:
Christine (and one presumes Chris) are down a short hall that ends in an alcove with a shrine/altar and a small stone chest (which has torches and candles).  Dareos initially went down stairs to talk with Christine.  Has he come back upstairs?

Stenet, Haskell, and Cracker are heading down the other direction into the unknown.



* The reason our Narrator is gently, but repeatedly, pointing out that Jednesa has shed her gear (aside from following her natural proclivities) is because there is a certain MEDALLION in a large pouch on her harness in the room where her gear is stashed.

Just mentioning this because not everyone is as current as their characters.  After all she's been carrying it in game for just under a day, but out of game it's lain mostly forgotten in that pouch for ten months.

Dang.  I completely misread your post.  I blame lack of sleep.

So to amend the above post:

Jednesa is in the hall alone, being watched over by Walter and Azrael in the room (probably to keep her from doing something stupid when she get's bored, also because if a wight were to sneak up on her (which let's face it is dead simple) it would murder her).

Christine, Chris, Malga'Mar, and Dareos are downstairs by the altar.

Stenet, Haskell, and Cracker are headed off into the unknown.

What is činit?

"Is game of count fingers.  Put out hand," Jednesa makes a fist as though to play rock-paper-scissors, "then, hmmm, shake hand up down and count první, druhý, třetí, then open hand to show fingers.  Must put out one, or two, or three, or four, or all fingers," by example she makes a fist with her index finger out, then one with all fingers splayed, "At same time show fingers, must call out number of fingers guess everyone will show at same time!  Whoever guess closest is win."

She then pumps her hand up and down three times while saying, "První, druhý, třetí" on the fourth time her hand descends she holds out four fingers and shouts, "ČTYŘI!"

She waggles the four fingers, "See, Jednesa say čtyři, four in human speak, only four finger show, so Jednesa win this round.  Is better game more play.  Sometimes play to decide who do what work, sometimes for bet, mostly just because boring time."

He smiles broadly ... I see, but I do think we need to be more alert here, there are bad things still around.

She looks around as though Azrael was speaking about direct threats and then seems to realize what he means.

"Oh.  Like guard duty during siege.  Boring."

She sighs and resumes half-heartedly trying to watch both directions.

"Ah... I say the number of all fingers?" asks Walter of Jednesa.

"All fingers?  Ummm.  Oh, yes.  When bring fist down last time and show fingers, then shout out guess.  Then everyone compare and count and whoever guess closest is win."

Stenet will continue until just before Christine and Dareos stop being visible due to the curve.  Then he'll stop.

The candles, or block of 12 candle equivalents, are blended with a blessed incense that is repugnant to demons. If cut back into candles size pieces they should last an hour each.
