In reply to Dareos Madrigar (msg # 657):

With an anti-demon candle burning in Sethyd's shrine, to guard the rear, you advance. The smell of damp and fermentation are strong, and you can feel the tunnell open up.

Marching order/light sources?

Fine I suppose, although Azrael isn't much of a fighter for the rear guard.

OOC:
Where's Chris in all that?

Azrael:
Fine I suppose, although Azrael isn't much of a fighter for the rear guard.

I suspect you and Walter are also being chosen for your Perceptive qualities...

Got that... but perception is good for warning, less so in a fight.

It's okay.  If Wights sneak up on us, just scream like a little girl.  Jednesa will shove past you and then fall on you when the wights knock her out again.  It'll be hilarious.

For the wights.

Oh, yeah, Chris. His perception is terrible, but perhaps he would be good at the back. Your perception and his endurance should help cover our asses!

The smell of grape must is strong. Many barrels are here, between columns supporting a barrel vaulted ceiling. There is a faint scuttling sound in the distance. This space is quite large, at least twenty yards wide, but barely three yards high. There also appear to be racks of bottles...

Re: In the Defiled Sanctuary

Stenet stops and gets a good look before making some gestures towards the group.  Then he leans over to Cracker and whispers to it while readying his axe and shield.

OOC:  15:42, Today: Stenet Fjall rolled 12 using 3d6.  Gesturing (skill 12) intentions to group in Abbey's winecellar.

How much room between the wineracks?  Or are they all on the walls with no free standing shelves?

[Private to GM: He intends to have everyone slowly back up a bit in the tunnel.  He wants to draw the demons to the tunnel.

To Cracker:  "Go forward a bit, let them see your light, but retreat back to here if they attack or come at you so we can keep you safe."

Re: In the Defiled Sanctuary

In reply to Stenet Fjall (msg # 668):

The space between arches is 4 yards, the barrels are in cradles and are about a yard and a half long, making for just over two yards walking space.
The bottle racks are two yards high, three yards long and a yard deep, and have bottles on both sides. There are twelve sets of spaces between arches going north south, and about that many going east west, or at least by the light of cracker it may be that big; you entered the room from the southwest corner. There are six rows of barrels before you, and rows of bottle racks beyond that point.

I'm happy with that arrangement.  I'll light my helmet lamp after a brief moment considering putting a demon bane candle in it.
Shield and Axe #1 are ready.

"Ye be makin' me job easy," whispers Walter to Dareos.

Re: In the Defiled Sanctuary

Seeing several people ignored his hand signals and just started crowding into the winecellar, Stenet waves everyone together near the tunnel entrance.  Keeping an eye on the aisles, he shapes this plan...

"We need to clear this aisle by aisle, keeping our rear covered. I suggest Haskell and I backed up by Walter, Dareos, Christine, and Chris start clearing the aisles.  Jednesa and Azrael hold the tunnel entrance for now and keep your eyes open.  When we get to the end of one aisle, Christine and Chris hold it while we work our way back down the next one.  Then Azrael and Jednesa move up and we clear the third aisle while they hold the end.  Walter drops torches at spots along the way to keep the aisles lit so our end watchers can make sure nothing slips back behind us.  Hopefully between the light, our guards, and the scented candle, we can drive 'em all to one end and fight them there."

I nod in agreement.

"Seems like a solid plan to me."

I sway my head back and forth to spread the candle scent more while I wait for us to execute the plan.
