As they move over to the refractory, Christine is asking if anyone has the skill to use the crozier.

Jednesa hefts her one-handed ax/mace, slapping it's thirty pound rounded butt into her left hand.

"Hmph.  Puny bone stick."

"Using that as a pole-arm would be like stabbing someone with a magic wand. Sure, you can do it, but there's probably a better use for it."

"It's best that I don't touch it. I'm very... death-aspected, due to my line of work. Again, I would suggest the most holy among us handle the blessed artifacts. Or at least, the ones most strongly affiliated with this church."

The ogrekin wizard looks the hooked staff ove, his of my shaped pupils shifting around like gears.
"seven feet long,a sharp hook, made of dragonbone if I  am correct, it could well serve as a weapon. I am skilled with a staff."

"I can hold onto it for now; try to study it."

OOC: Would magic item lore give me some idea about what it does?  Also, can it be used as a staff for the purposes of extending the reach of my spells?

Magic item lore would work; this would need to be enchanted  with the staff spell for the other effect.

I step closer and wrap my hand around it to see if I have any sense of what it might do.

It's certainly contrary to the type of implement I'm accustomed to using.  It would need to be extremely helpful for me to forego my usual armaments.""
