"The book is here!" exclaims Malga'mar.

"Ah, in a circle of salt. I wonder why? Lets collect it Mal, and see if it has useful information for us."

Malga'mar leans his ornate stave and the crozier against the nearby wall.  He then reaches to grab the book from under the bed.


OOC: If I'm not stopped or interrupted, my intent is to use speed-reading and some of my hidden lore skills to quickly look for anything which seems particularly relevant.  I'd also like to use the book to sweep some of the salt into the empty crystal vial that I have.

Malga'Mar finds the book enthralling. The demons probably circled the book with salt so as to bind its influence.

Occ:

Those reading the book can treat it as a Manual worth 2 points in Theology and 1 point in Philosophy, and recieve a Blessing if they read the entire book.

They may also need to make a will roll to avoid becoming Charitable, Selfless, Honest, Truthful, or Pacifistic (at the very least, cannot harm innocents); readers may also trade existing disads for these, and possibly take a combo plate and add Blessed to advantages...

OOC - Just took this Character over ... may be somewhat discordant for a bit.

OOC: Is the book in a language that I understand?  I had to look up the skill because I was unfamiliar with speed-reading.  If I can read it, I'm able to read it over twice as fast as the average person.  I'm not sure how long the book is though.

"Ah! Ha! Mal found it! Care to jig in celebration?"

Walter performs an awful attempt at dancing, one which appears more like a flopping fish having an upright seizure than dancing.

A plain wooden shelf with a long rotted straw pallet wrapped in rotting cloth. The monks lived simply.

Malga'mar gathers the book, collects salt into an empty crystal vial, and then recollects both the crozier and his ornate stave.

"What next?" he asks.

"You said your seeker showed you the bells someplace dark and wet. The only wet I have seen is the well in the courtyard, if it isn't  in a wine barrel in the winery, that is."

"Sounds right. When Mal is finished we can ask him where to go next."

"I can read later," says Malga'mar.

"Maybe I should try to seek again, for a better picture?"

Mal seems fidgety and unsure of himself when making the second comment, as though he's awaiting direction.
