You quickly find a room rhat seems right, and there looks to be something under one of the beds...

"I have seen this," says Malga'mar in response to seeing a familiar-looking room.

I will cautiously approach the bed and poke around under it with the staff prior to searching with my hands.

Re: In the Defiled Sanctuary

Malga'mar leans his ornate stave and the crozier against the nearby wall.  He then reaches to grab the book from under the bed.

OOC: If I'm not stopped or interrupted, my intent is to use speed-reading and some of my hidden lore skills to quickly look for anything which seems particularly relevant.  I'd also like to use the book to sweep some of the salt into the empty crystal vial that I have.

Re: In the Defiled Sanctuary

In reply to Christine Bjorn (msg # 466):

Malga'Mar finds the book enthralling. The demons probably circled the book with salt so as to bind its influence.

Occ:

Those reading the book can treat it as a Manual worth 2 points in Theology and 1 point in Philosophy, and recieve a Blessing if they read the entire book.

They may also need to make a will roll to avoid becoming Charitable, Selfless, Honest, Truthful, or Pacifistic (at the very least, cannot harm innocents); readers may also trade existing disads for these, and possibly take a combo plate and add Blessed to advantages...

Whilst I cannot read as fast as you, I should be interested in reading that as well, Malga'mar

Re: In the Defiled Sanctuary

"Knowledge for all is best for all," says Malga'mar, and he nods in Azrael's general direction.

"Christine, should I read or do you wish to move forward?"

OOC: Is the book in a language that I understand?  I had to look up the skill because I was unfamiliar with speed-reading.  If I can read it, I'm able to read it over twice as fast as the average person.  I'm not sure how long the book is though.

[Private to GM: Malga'Mar rolled 10 using 3d6 ((1,6,3)) Speed-Read (assuming I can read it)
17:29, Today: Malga'Mar rolled 9 using 3d6.  Magical Writings (14).
17:29, Today: Malga'Mar rolled 10 using 3d6.  Thaumatology (15).

Walter moves forward and enters the room where Malga'mar, Christine, Azrael, and the book are located.

"Ah! Ha! Mal found it! Care to jig in celebration?"

Walter performs an awful attempt at dancing, one which appears more like a flopping fish having an upright seizure than dancing.

Malga'mar gathers the book, collects salt into an empty crystal vial, and then recollects both the crozier and his ornate stave.

"What next?" he asks.
