And we would like to be rewarded for seeing to it's destruction. It is quite valuable to others who don't honor Grom, We have backers who would be very angry if we threw such a large sum away ... humans are somewhat greedy... and there were costs involved in our coming here. If Grom can aid us, we will gladly aid Grom.

Does Grom deign to talk to you? We could use some verbal input from him. Do we even know how to destroy this rod? Destroying powerful magical items can be disastrous for those nearby.

My suggestion was that we agree to Grom's wishes if he will assist us home.

"If we need to destroy it, we should do so. Why don't you attempt to communicate with your patron first, Kirpich? Try to find out if it is absolutely required."
