In reply to Jareth Mooncalled (msg # 478):

Harbash unbolts the door to his area, and pries up a bronze grate with a crowbar, revealing a yard wide, 3 yards deep pit.

Re: Below Junior House

Jareth directs the laborers to put the barrel next to the pit and then waves them back (along with the wheelbarrow and dead John).

He'll begin to undo the rope and tarp they secured it with and he'll have Brodak standing ready to knock the worm into the pit if it's extra feisty.

Mario gives Jareth room to work, but changes back to his bow and stands ready a short distance back, angled to give a clear shot past Jareth.

Mario moves his arrow hand to pinch his nose against the stench from the barrel.  "Wow, worms are great!  Put one chopped one in, get two out!"  He finishes with a couple coughs.

Re: Below Junior House

Jareth opens the bag and gives it a quick look over, if it looks right he doesn't bother coutning, just pockets it.

"Pleasure.  Get anymore worms or other such beasties, give ya first dibs."

Then once everyone's out of Harbash's room he stops the group.

"Okay.  Got t'ree choices with this dead guy, One we sell 'im to Selan.  Ain't got no objection ta that, just voice concerns earlier.  T'e best money be that way.  Two sell 'em to Harbash as worm food.  Less money.  Tres, drag 'im to t'e oty pen.  No money an t'ese two guys," he motions to the laborers, "got'sa haul 'im furt'er.   Hmmm.  Four, get Razakeel raise 'im if 'es around, kill 'im again, an t'en sell 'im for bit more dosh to Harbash.  Kinda complicated though.  Probably end up, after payin Razakeel, about as much as just sellin 'im as scrap meat for Harbash's worms.

My vote, sell to Selan an devil what may come."

"I'm for Selan, as well.  Not very likely his family will see him walking around, and even if they do, they're likely to find out he got himself into this.

Alternative, as I see it, would be  to spend much more than we have to get him raised proper and send him on his way.  If I were his wingman and was there in the brothel when he dropped, I'd probably have tried that, but I don't know this guy from Methusaleh."

"Hah.  If that's the case, they need to spend more time around Northport.  There are plenty of folk around here with more monster in 'em than that girl.  I heard a rumor one of the warlords in Little Sahud has an actual dragonborn working for him."

Jareth continues to move the everyone along over to Selan's workshop/area.

"That dragonborn got t'e backin of t'e warlord though.  This, eh... lady ain't got nothin but her looks.  If some fussy types get it in t'ey heads she be monster enough, t'ey string her up an not much to stop 'em.  She ain't no Ogre to scare t'e rabble back down, an ain't likely got no guild behind her.  Lot of t'e more... monstrous half-bloods got's to keep t'eyselves hid."

There is nothing linking the lady to the stiff ... we know what happened, but it's hardly obvious ... he could have reached under a rock for all they know.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Okay, looks like we just dumped the stiffy with Selan and got paid.  So back to the House?

In reply to Jareth Mooncalled (msg # 493):

Oh aye... all that can be done... for a price. But if you come and find your kin dead and animated, with no marks or signs of a fight, are you going to fork up all that cash? He could have died of a fever. Unless something looks fishy, there is less reason to question how he died than how he ended up as a reanimated stiff... now That might piss them off... and that is Selan's problem. He could simply say that he didn't pay his inn bill on leaving feet first, so he was sold to pay the bill. For a few coins he could be released to go home and be buried proper.

Re: Below Junior House

"Would I?  Hmmm.  Interesting question."  He spins a step and holds his arms out to encompass himself, "Would I, Jareth Mooncalled, Adventurer Sage, bother so much?  No.  I'd acquire t'e kin's body an send it home for t'e family to know an bother over.  Owe t'em at least that much. But..." he straightens his back and squares his shoulders, his voice taking on a different cadence as he tilts his head in a 'haughty' manner, "I once knew one who would move heaven and earth to learn all that and more.  The reasons would be found and those whom deserved punishment or reward would be be so dealt with."

He shakes himself back down.  "But t'en time an jealously has killed 'im as surely any ot'er weapon."

Re: Below Junior House

"I'm not concerned about it, even on behalf of the snake-haired lady of the evening.  It's long odds any family member even seeing, never mind recognizing their fallen kin in Selan's service.  Then they'd have to have some idea there's something to it other than he took a wrong turn in an unfamiliar town, before they'd go spending money trying to question him.

"Anyone in Northport could have wound up on Selan's slab just as easily over the past week -- in fact, I wonder how many of those caught in the street collapse are down there alongside Mr. Southern High and Mighty.  Bad luck will get you no matter how much you've got in your purse."

Re: Below Junior House

In reply to Jocelyn Lemru (msg # 500):

A point would get you an infrequent servant, apppearing on a 6
2pts (pooled) would get appearance of 9, 4 will get you 12, 6 will get you
15 and 8pts would be constant. Also, as you all are about 135 pts, they would be 67pt servants at that rate. Principly, these would be people displaced by the street collapse, who would move in to one of the abandonded  murder buildings on the block, who would work on keeping the place up. If they are infrequently available, they probably have a job.

Re: Below Junior House

OOC: I have no problem putting in a point toward a "servant" who comes in to keep up the house.  I don't see any reason we'd need higher frequency than a 15, even a 12 should be fine.

"Yes, we can finish cleaning up the remaining dead bodies and find a servant to take care of the house.  That is a good idea."

/ooc  sorry I'm hardly on these days, our new baby is up most of the night these days and I rarely even think about this.
Nodwin has a point in base and he can put another one into independent income and one into servant.
