Things appear as they were. The place could do with the ministrations of Charala, or at least a mundane washing. The prior inhabitants did not seem to be too cleanly...

Jareth descends the ladder and unbars and opens the basement door.

Re: Below Junior House

"The priest healer didn't say anything about taking it easy, that I recall.  Honestly, it feels like I'm five or six weeks into a couple months of natural healing -- about the stage when the Brothers would have said 'As long as it doesn't hurt, do what you like.'"  Mario gets a thoughtful look.

"Hmmm.  Come to think of it, the Brothers don't seem like the most reliable folks, from what I've been hearing lately.  Maybe I should stay here and keep an eye on the place."

He eyes Jareth's keys.  "By the way, we might want to get some copies made of that particular key, so the gang can go in and out in case you or your keys aren't around."

In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 532):

A cheap lock with one key costs $20, but is easy to pick. A better one, about $50-100. A superior one costs $400 and is hard to bypass. Cheap keys can be made for $10 each, better ones for $20 each. A quality copy for a superior lock about $100. Rare originals like the tier one sewer key cost $50, rarer ones like the tier 2 key cost $100.

Re: Below Junior House

Jareth steps out into the catchment tunnel.

"Yeah, been thinkin on that.  Good an bad idea, but mostly useful.  Probably want a few spares stashed in t'e house as well.  Not be cheap, respectable smith won't do it.  Probably have ta get it through t'e Guild."

He sighs.

"T'ey porbably make t'eir own copies as well.  That spread around t'e utility an reduce t'e value."

He perks up, "Well, if ya leg ain't hurtin none, might as well stretch it.  That's actually good.  Generally.  Just don't work till it hurt."

OOC:  Hmmm.  Jareth could spend a day or two and pick up Smith (Locks)... that would certainly cut down on some of our potential expenses.  But it would require some down time.

Re: Below Junior House

"I was mostly asking after the general use of the group.  Given some time, I can likely get past most of the locks down there.  A key is nice, though, because it carries a certain air of ownership or authority, and it's usually a lot faster to use than a Cheap Street master key.

"And no, I know better than to keep working an injury if the pain comes back.  Right now, it's just a little stiff, like it was right after the healer priest finished up.  He said that might take a couple months to fully pass.  Can't be too soon.  I have no interest in laming myself again."

I expect even a frickin' pompous goody-good smith would become a hell of a lot less respectable if the price was right...

The northern half of redlight is mostly orcish, there are a mix of Aralasian and foreign human, including some trace Valdassyan, Shevnian and Sahudese, along with other odd races. This block was mostly human.

"Those jugga players will mark up anything.  If we get Charala in here, chances are she can clean that up.  At least, assuming she doesn't need her circle to do her stuff.  Then we might want to consider making our own marks on the area we're managing, maybe in something more permanent than chalk and charcoal."

As they speak Jareth points out the three ex-zombies that need to be hauled up to the wheelbarrow upstairs (presuming nothing untoward occurs).
