He puts down the lantern, leaning the pole against a wall, and draws two torches from his pack in one hand, their heads together. Muttering a few words and waving his other hand, a small fire appears and ignites them! He then separates them and offers them around.

Brodak looks at the giant spider, then at the others... If dead, why attack?

Would a fire spell help?

"Brodak... that... is a good question.  Hmmm.  Someone might buy some dead spider parts, an t'e less hack up t'e better."

He seems to ponder this a moment.  "An maybe t'e webs.  Let me think on it a moment."

After a few seconds...

"Nah, light it up.  Can't think o' none buyin an don't ken how to harvest it none anyways."

She mumbles something and moves her hands and feet slightly ... a small ball of fire appears in her right hand.

I presume a fairly big fire?

Mario backs away from the spider a couple steps.  "Never been sure bigger is better, with fire."

Wherever the torches touch the silk, it smoulders and melts, but does not erupt into flame.

Jareth just keeps watch others go about the business of clearing the webs.

Having no takers, Clarence uses a torch in each hand to clear away the webs...

Jocelyn concentrates and grows the fireball ... then when it is about the diameter of a mans forearm, she launches it at the spider.

The spider shatters, releasing a cloud of steam and scattering burning chunks of spider into the webbing around.

There is a sound of scuttling and hissing from further up the web choked corridor.

As he speaks, Mario's gaze searches in the direction of the noises, right hand never straying from the nock of his arrow, thumb brushing the fletching of the two arrows in his second quiver.

Clarence pauses for a minute, then begins burning webs in earnest, getting rid of the larger sections first with both hands...

Jocelyn pushes the floating light stone further down the hall past the mess that was the large frozen spider.

Jareth just continues watching, interrupted only slightly when Akimbo tries to slip out of the pocket.

"Whoa t'ere.  Where you goin?"

"Chiiiiter."

"Bad idea till clear t'e rest t'e big spiders."

"Scoff, tsssss-scoff."

"I ken ya ain afraid of t'e really big ones... but... what about t'e ones t'e size of schnauzers?

"Chhit.. chitters?"

"Yeah.  Schnuazers.  Probably hungry for rats, an weasels, an ferrets..."

Akimbo slowly creeps backwards into the pocket and pulls the flap shut.  His little paws slip out and fasten the buckles.

"We pick ya up a few pieces of big one on t'e way out so ya can taste it, don' worry."

Mario spots another dead spider, this one with its face melted off, so it looks like a jug with legs. This one was the size of a large dog.

"This is very strange, what could have done this to such large spiders. It is almost as if they were surprised and defeated without raising a claw. Their attacker must have been powerful or fast."

Perhaps the eye guy?

"More than likely.  It is an otherworldly sorcerer, expect t'e unexpected."

Clarence finishes clearing out the webs with his torches, before going back and attacking his lantern on a stick to his pack, so that it dangles curiously above his head. He then starts working his way down the corridor after Jareth with the torches, burning the second spider as well.

Mario continues on Jareth's flank, searching every shadow and cluster of webs for the glint of eyes.

"I think this covers the 'spiders' part of your dream, Jareth."
