Jareth calls down, "Anyone got a crowbar?"


If no one answers in the affirmative (I'm pretty sure we don't have a crowbar or anything like that) Jareth will begin using his older key as an allen key.

Once you get something loosely in the socket, you can spin the cover open.
It spins three times, then falls over ro the side, where it hangs from the chain.

"Sorry, no crowbar."

Jareth will push it up and out of the tunnel, and then peek out above.

In reply to Jareth Mooncalled (msg # 307):

The hatch opens into a small triangular door with a door to one side. The hatch itself opens out of a yard high well housing, presumably  to keep water from flowing down the shaft.

"All clear."

Jareth finishes climbing up and out, gives his arms a shake (he's not used to hanging about like a lesser primate!), and then he checks the door over.

Mario continues watching the corridor, but calls softly over his shoulder.

"Let me know if you need help with that barrel."

Brodak climbs up to the triangular room to help pull the barrel up...

Nodwin helps the workers lift the barrel up to the others up above.

The barrel shifts in its harness as you start to hoist it... then settles a bit.  The lid looks like it might be loose under the tarp.

Jocelyn starts casting

Hearing someone casting Jareth ducks back to the ladder and looks down, "What's goin on?"

The barrel becomes noticeably light and rises easily up the shaft...

The barrel hoists more smoothly. The door out of the triangular room seems locked with the standard lock, but not trapped.

Once it's up top, Jareth will check it over to make sure it's still fit to travel (and bung the lid back into place if necessary).

Brodak can help him put the lid back down and help tighten the fastenings

Mario waits and holds rear guard until everyone else is up the ladder (might be a while, with Jareth and Brodak and the barrel at the top of the ladder), then follows.

The barrel was moved into the room... the ladder should be clear.

The room is fairly small, three of you and the barrel fit. The top of the shaft extends upward a yard, and looks like a well. Presumably  this is to prevent flooding below.

Jareth will unlock the door and then move into the tunnel, leaving the laborer with the barrel.

Brodak follows Jareth and is on guard for any trouble.

The corridor it opens into is part of a T intersection, heading West. To the noth, you can hear something  heavy clanking about.

Jareth checks his map to determine which direction is best to go next while Brodak keeps watch and everyone else joins them.

The guild should be south of here, away from the clanking sound.

Jareth puts away the map carefully while waiting for everyone to get up the ladder and reseal the wellhead.
