The others make their way up, and Frank and Evain untie the harness and prepare to reseal the barrel. The stench of the dead cats, cuttlefish and rotworm is strong, so the barrel end must be loose...

Once everyone else is up the ladder, Mario slings his bow and climbs after, looking down past his feet every few rungs.

On seeing the screw-on cover, "That's a new one on me.  Should be more secure against critters than a simple lid, though."  Once out of the well head, he'll assist whoever is left in the triangular room with putting the cover back on and screwing it down -- barely hand tight; don't want it too hard to undo from below.

Both lids, the manhole cover, and the leaky barrel are secured. That distant clanging sound is louder now.

Jareth points in the opposite direction, "This is t'e way need to go."

The corridor continues on to the south, leaving rhe North/West intersection behind.

Mario waits at the wellhead for everyone else to get started southward behind Jareth, then unslings his bow and resumes rear guard, with frequent glances behind, toward the clanging noise.

Jareth once again has Akimbo take up watch with Mario, hopefully he'll stay awake and not try to steal anything this time.

"Thanks, Jareth, but I only have one pouch.  We'll just have to search him when he climbs out."

This route south is in tbe general direction if the guild, but there was some kind of tunnel collapse that way that was never quite repaired. You might have to go back and take the west fork, and head south from there.

Nodwin turns around and heads back, listening for that clanging sound they heard.

Mario lets everyone pass him before resuming his rear guard.  He watches back to the south for a few seconds before following.

On seeing Jareth pass the west fork, Mario calls forward: "That goes away from the Guild, doesn't it?"

Once everyone is heading the right way again, Jareth takes the lead with Brodak.

On turning into the westward passage, Mario pauses for a moment, looking and listening toward the north (where the clanking sound originates), then follows the group again, bow ready and keeping watch behind.

Passing a few blocked gates along the way, you soon come to a four-way intersection. There is some noise to the south.

OOC:  Just for my info... what were the gates blocked with?  Bricking I suppose... but I'm checking anyway.

The entrances, like many after the plague, are bricked over. Ahead you can hear two female voices arguing.

We'll approach cautiously (it's not like we're particularly quite).
