Tell me, have you heard of woods with odd powers? I've heard many tales about things built from woods that give a living essence to the carving, or indeed woods that can be hard as iron or light as feather. Do these exist for true?

If they are, and you can carve them, i'd love to see you take your hand to a few pieces. We can probably get hold of some after we've fought a few more trolls and demons.

In reply to the young mage woman Haveron cocked one side of his mouth and replied with equal humour in his voice. But you wizards come sauntering in and promising us lowly mundane folk the world and always fail to deliver there was a hint of honest flirtation in the undertones of his voice, but it was mostly without bite.

Gareth greets the others politely before turning to Sorsha

"I have some new undergarments, but could not afford shoes. Should we find some profitable employment now?"

I'll take another drink as long as I'm not the one paying! Berry says. Although I suppose I could summon some snacks...

"I will blow stuff if I can, but mostly I like to burn stuff. And create food from time to time..."

He gives a little gesture, and some rice and vegetables appear on the table, some of which he starts to eat.

"Haff shome..." he offers through a mouthful.

Shroud walks into the Wastrel's Hope after a day of patrolling and getting rid of pests. He walks over to the counter with his backpack over one shoulder, his unique helmet strapped to his side. Smooth Steel hammered into the shape of his head with a lower half of a face mask only, revealing his eyes completely when worn, the whole thing stained black. He still wears his armor, Black Cloth which is almost too thin to count as armor but has served him well ever since he had it made.

He sits down while taking in his surroundings, reaches for his pouch on his side and mummers a curse. He forgot he was broke at the moment.

"So how much were the shoes? I am not one for creating lasting things. But I might have some extra coin" she says to Gareth

"Yes, another drink is good. So what kind of work are we talking about?"

"Any work that pays. Shoes are $40 a pair, and some wooden torches would be good too. I will pay you back when I get paid. Fire is most useful when creating fire elementals."

Sorsha grins at Gareth "Here you go" she hands him $50 "Get what you need, we don't want you walking barefoot"

He heads out briefly to find some footwear.

"Well, seems like there's quite the adventuring party in these parts" he turned to Amelia to make some joke and then realised she wasn't here.

I'll worrk about work tomorrow, today I'm going to enjoy these ales. Barman, get us a stack of them, would you? he said in a mock exasperated tone. He was enjoying himself considerably.

After listening for a while and ignoring his empty wallet Shroud chimes in on the group forming.

"Couldn't help but over hear that you folks are grouping up for a job, got room for one more? I am a decent scout, trap worker, and I can make maps if provided with ink and paper and an expert with a dagger."

Haveron looked over the rim of his glass at the new arrival. He gave a pointed stare and then let his eyes narrow suspiciously. He held the pose for a few breaths and then put his cup down with a huge grin, his sense of humour now obvious.

"No man works... no man or woman works for me unless I know their name! Dagger experts and scouts are worth their weight in gold, so i'm told from the wisdom of a past life. he said jovially, the edge of his words taking on a fuzzy sound as he slowly began to slur. Not quite drunk though.


"I'm Haveron. This hereis Ame... well, Amelia is off attending business. But we have our cabinet maker here, our wizard, our green skin friend and a couple of others that are loitering round the area unsure about their futre... he eyed all the nearby people with the same humourous narrow-eyed suspicion and then added.

In all the ruckus and my eagerness to get an ale or two I think i missed their names. So... he said looking around pointedly at the gathered group ... let introductions commence!

He patted Shroud heavily on the back and then passed him the tankard of ale he was holding.

Shroud grabs the tankard before it can spill while grunting with the swing Stormwal, careful not to spill is new drink. He takes a sniff before deeming it, and his parched throat, safe for consumption.

"I go by Shroud." He manages to say between gulps.

"Gareth. Sorcha and her friends just got me out of an underground slugs pickle jar, where I sat for the last 400 years or so. Events prior to that are, well, ancient history."

"I am Sorsha, a mage and I have some scouting skills." she says as she get an ale and drinks some.
