The ogre stirs, the ropes at his wrists holding.

Ardenas keeps a close eye on the ogre's movements.  "Can someone hold this rope, or take another couple turns around his ankles?"

When someone takes over the rope, Ardenas will move to the ogre's head.  "Do yourself a huge favor, and stay quiet.  If I have to stun you, it'll hurt a lot more than turning into a fish."

In reply to Ardenas Barehand (msg # 310):

The ogre seems to be both frightened and confused, and his movements are weak.

"Okay, let's try talking again.  Do you speak any Aralaise at all?"

"The problem is, this section of the cellars belongs to a surface dweller, Lamont DuClaire.  He's in pretty tight with the Guild, and you don't want to have them against you.  If you five don't find another place, they'll send people down here to kill you, but they sent us first, to try to talk you into leaving."

 "Trolls gone. Empty place."

Ardenas turns to Oly and Aoife, with a helpless look on his face.

"Trolls gone.  So these guys moved into the vacancy.  This will happen again, if we clear these guys out and the space stands empty."

"Wait, if they were beating up kobolds, then it was not empty..."

Oly nods ... Dadz Drue Aoife, dough dey may nod dink much o' da Kobaldz

"Or it might have been empty when they arrived, and the kobolds came on shift after they'd settled in.  Regardless, we need to convince them to leave, so we don't have to kill them."  Ardenas cuts his eyes toward the bound ogre as he says this.  "Hate to leave this guy an orphan."

Maybe fine' dem a bedder place ... dey can help guard.

"I'm not sure how well that will work.  I'm starting to get the impression that all this space under the city is more occupied than vacant, between the hobgoblins, trolls, ogres, kobolds, Shevnians, slorn, and heaven only knows what else.  The ogres may have been looking for a vacant place because something pushed them out of wherever they'd been before.

"I wonder if it might be possible to just make peace with these, and hire them to keep other things out of DuClair's section of the undercity.  We'd have to talk to him, of course, but I think that's got a better likelihood of long term success than just pushing them out or killing them."

Mancini thought for a second.  "That is a good question.  If they're not, this could be even more tricky than if they are simply ogres."
