Mancini ponders the words of the ogres for a moment.  "Are there a lot of slorns in this part?  Is that how your ogre clan numbers became so small?"

"Wait -- slorns breathe fire>"  Ardenas's eyes go wide.

Believe he zaid nod firey

"He clearly said 'not the fiery kind' -- which implies there is a fiery kind.  Pretty sure I'd have taken a little different approach to the last slorn we met if I'd known some of them breathe fire."

Drue enough

"Many slorn, spitter, burner... many slorn."

"You don't say.  We might need to look into learning how to tell which is which."

Mancini listens intently, scribing down the important facts about slorns as relayed by the ogres.

"Fire slorn look like blood, spitter look like moss, belcher look like wet stone."

"So slorns are adept at natural camoflouge?", Mancini asked, as he scribbled down the important insight.

"I think she's describing them by color.  Fire slorns are reddish, spitters greenish, belchers grayish.  The one I've helped kill didn't seem particularly camouflaged."

"Colors, yes.  Fergush not hurt by bad spit, rip slorn jaws open, punch into throat, squeeze heart."

Dadz Hard rending  He smiles at his joke.

"Oly, was the one we killed green or gray?  Seems to me it was green.

"We didn't do anything as spectacular as Fergush.  I kicked it in the head several times, and we also stabbed it and shot it.  Darned thing seemed too stupid to die."

"You fix now?"

"I expect it'll take a couple days, er, sleeps to get Krusher fixed.  We'll need to take it to someone who repairs weapons.  I don't think you'll be up to using it that soon, anyway."

"You take Krusher, then you leave your blade as promise."

Mancini nods towards Oly.  "Give it to him.  In return, I'll guarantee you get it back, or I'll pay you 25 gp in compensation."

Aoife is happy not to be involved in this conversation. She just looks around at everything, staying well back from the ogres.

Ardenas lifts his arms out to the sides, and turns.  "I've never gotten in the habit of carrying a blade -- or, in truth, learned to properly use one.  I've got a bunch of shuriken, and a few crossbow bolts; otherwise, my hands and feet are my weapons."
