Mancini can help you find a third buyer, as he is pretty useful in locating trivia.

Aethebert is a troll entusiast Sage, not a merchant. Mythos is an artificer, with an interest in traps.

The third party you encounter is a hobgoblin who can read troll. He is willing to pay the $20 per page.

4 pages each set. Aethelbert bids highest, at $50 per page, and both Mythos and Makkido offer $20 per page.each of these exchanges is occurring seperately, although you suggested multiple bidders, and only a sole copy.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 788):

As I understand, Aoife has one original, which she will sell for $50 per page, and 2 copies, which she will sell for $20/page, for a total of $360. $200 will be contributed to the group to be distributed evenly (how many ways shared again?) and $160 will be kept by her, minus the $20 to replace the paper.

She will order a fine quality mirrored dueling bucker with special straps so that she can use it, and a few other basic supplies and a nice wooden chest.

[Private to GM: As discussed in pms, $200, 1.5 lbs. Character sheet updated, including 2 sets of paper, one of which was consumed in the copies.]

As I remember, in the group was Mancini, Oly, Aoife, Ardenas Hilerno and Ales (are the last two players still around?)

As I understand, the prices for enchantments in DF1 are no longer applicable, is that right GM?

As I understand it, the major change was that Q&D enchantment was abolished for DF purposes when the compiled "game" came out.  No $1/pt up to some reasonable figure, it's all $25/pt (at one point a day).  Not sure if that applies to Staff -- that's a spell in itself, not tied to Enchantment -- but it seems to put most other magic items out of reach of most characters.

OOC: There was a thread on this, I think it's stickied, about DFRPG changes.  Interesting juxtaposition, in that this came up just about the time the GM and a number of players realized we're starting to encounter stuff that needs silver or magic weapons to kill (demons above "Lesser" status, for instance), and almost no one has the weapons for that.

Silver weapons are cheap, though, and only magic ammunition was Quick and Dirty...all magic weapons are super expensive!

I have several character with silvered weapons, some fine but most are silver coated.

OOC: Cheap is relative; if you're a starting character with normal or Struggling level of Wealth, a silver weapon is still out of reach until you've had a couple decent paydays -- by which time you might well have met something that needs silver or magic to kill.

Q&D also applied to a number of other things, some of which are specifically excluded from DF (like Powerstones), and some of which aren't (as you note, magic ammunition, also Cornucopia for normal arrows, bolts, or bullets, and the first level of Lighten or Fortify for armor).  Even Staff is normally cast Q&D in non-DF GURPS; a Circle of three enchanters can cast several Staff spells a day if there's demand.  Staff seems to be exempted from the DF restriction against Q&D, but Mario Crowfoot may have the last Cornucopia Quiver around...

Oh, no. Hograth has one as well! But he took a level or two of wealth, as well as signature gear, so he has a few silver weapons, including a Balanced set of well balanced silver coated brass knuckles for just $70. OK, The fine, balanced silver coated axe is worth a pretty penny, but the silver bolts not so much.

But then, the Axe, crossbow and shield (with a blessed holy symbol of Haderaum emblazoned subtly across it...) are worth 3 points in signature gear. That frees up a lot for smaller stuff. SG is underrated when it comes to having the right stuff, like silverware!

So Dispater isn't the devil who rules the Iron City of Dis in Hell?  And shouldn't that be "The dead should stay dead, unless we choose to animate their corpses for our own purposes?"

"Ah, Mancini of the guild! There has been enough of an incursion into our city from the infernal region that the gods have dispatched a servitor to investigate.  Embarrassingly, the envoy is of a death goddess... and not from our accepted pantheon. She informs me that she has come solely to hunt demons... but I would rather she be neither unescorted, nor given occasion to gather followers, all without seeming to be mistaken as approved of by our church, so I cannot send an envoy to chaperone her."
