In reply to Aoife (msg # 907):

"I have, alas, only the means to fight against them, defend against them, give permanent rest to the dead that they may not be raised to walk, and to become invisible, which makes my ears buzz. I know their signs and forms, but cannot seek them by any power I have. Such places have a habit of returning until they wreak their fill of havoc. I s7spect though, given their perverse natures, that they might reopen shop within sight of one of those holy edifices with the spires."
She points over toward the minerets of the mosque, and the towers of the cathedral.

In reply to Aoife (msg # 912):

"I was sent because a hellmouth opened, and upwards of three dozen infernals were known to be in the area. I thought they would be easy to find. I have seen one of the shops before, and subtly blasphemic graffiti has always been the way to find them. There they disseminate summoning instructions and tainted magical objects for unbelievably low prices. If we find a demon or a cultist, they will know where the shop is.
What do we know of the cultists? Have any of you dealt with them?"

In reply to Mancini (msg # 916):

The guild per se does not have any services for demonologists, but you remember hearing of at least one person with infernal background several week ago, it had caused some scandal for Camilla with her client the Bishop of Sonne. Still, one hears of things, and a shop with services has been reported in several locations in the Redlight district here. Where there are readily available manuals on summoning, there tend to be demons...

[Private to Oly: you know quite a bit about the cult, especially about preparation of their robes- undyed homespun submerged in a vat of cuttlefish, which dye the robes when a cat is drowned within... pass this on!]

In reply to Ardenas Barehand (msg # 920):

You head out of redlight, away from the Cathedral and toward Dockside. You notice more of the Sahudese population  bustling about than you usually see, as they live on the western end of Dockside, where it meets Temple and Artisinal. One robed rellow seems to be gathering an audience of out of work mercenaries...

The smell of salt water is stronger...along with the heavy aroma of the fishmarket.

"I have a feeling this guy isn't here to start a debate society", Mancini said coolly to Aoife.

Mancini decided to go closer towards the guy, trying to hear what the guy in the robes was saying to the fighters.  Maybe he could mess up the message, or at the very least find out what something useful.

Stepping quickly to come alongside Mancini, Ardenas pitches his voice low, for the man's ears alone.

"Unless he's working on summoning a demon, which I doubt, I don't really think this man is our business.  We're here looking for a broker who recalls filling one or more larger orders of cuttlefish, not for Sahudese rabble rousers."

Mancini takes a moment to write down a brief description of the guy leading the crowd.  He disliked rabble rousing, as it could lead to riots and other mischief, and that could be bad for the guild, at least if the guild wasn't prepared to exploit it for their own ends.  At the earliest possible convenience, Mancini plans on turning over the information to the Guild and see if they can find a reason to expel the rabble rouser from the city.

"Fine.  Let's go buy some cuttlefish", Mancini said to Ardenas, as he put away his writing notebook.

Mancini starts towards the stall in a leisurely manner, acting as if he was just a rich bureaucrat in need of some fish.

(OOC: 16:41, Today: Mancini rolled 8 using 3d6.  Writing (14)-- to write a clear, concise listing of the rabble rouser.)

As they walk toward the vendor stalls, Ardenas gets a thoughtful frown.

"I wonder why cuttlefish, specifically?  All of the tentacled sea creatures produce ink.  There must be some magical or religious need for that specific kind."

"Good day, Sir.  I was wondering what fine bounty you and your crew have gathered from the sea this day", Mancini said, as he examined the langostines and shellfish. "Is there anything you particularly recommend?"

As he casually examined the merchandise, Mancini was carefully observing to make sure everything was as it appeared.

As far as she was concerned, all dead fish smelt...
