Airis and Iskander find their way to a crowded intersection. A group of Gajin, including a black clad Bakemono are gathered around a shunned building accross from the balconied facade of the Silver Jade Palace, which is a bit of a dump.

The most forward of the gaijin accosts a Sahudese man, attempting to draw his attention to the shunned house, which all know to be haunted. The man
Calls them ignorant pigs, and makes a sign against evil, before walk8ng quickly away.

Iskander thinks about where he has heard about this place before.... he watches the group casually, from the distance.

The group consists of a sorcerer with a dyed beard, a number of servants,
 a black clad Bakemono, a spearwoman, and a pomaded dandy. They seem to
be trying to get in to the ghost house.

It is late afternoon, and the street is busy. The Silver Jade Palace is a large woodframe building with balconies and a porch that are open to the restauraunt, and have people seated on them at tables. Attempting to climb the facade would be immediately seen.

The building is not freestanding, and is attached to a large building that has shops on the ground floor, and apartments above.

balcony all along the edge, and a pair of chimneys, which look fairly
narrow. From your vantage point, you can see that the balcony tables are mostly occupied...

Iskander lays himself flat, behind the chimneys, and peers across the way, watching and listening...

She looks around and whispers. "I wonder if there is away in though the basement. I would never of though of a balcony all the way around."

Iskander whispers back: "Perhaps they will do something that clears the balconies, for us..That would be just the distraction we need."

"So how long do we wait? I didn't think they would do anything that drew attention." she whispers.

"That was their prime objective, to go in and cause a distraction, so we can infiltrate, and scout the place. Be my guest, if you want to find another way in. That way, we won't be discovered in the same place, should we get found out..." Iskander remained watching and listening at what went on below them, as he whispered.

There is some yelling and cheering going on. Several people sitting in the balcony get up and head inside, while most of the others seem to be craning their necks in that direction.

Amid the commotion, Iskander drifted from the shadows and smoke of the interior of the second floor. He found a spot where he could observe below, and began taking stock of where valuables were, and the defenses. *this all takes him about an hour*

Hiding now is more of blending in with the crow. No one noticed your
arrival due to some arm wrestling match downstairs. You are on the second
 floor of a restaurant, which is more of a mezzanine surrounding an open
 area in the middle, with railings and two flights of stairs down to the
main area. The space inside matches the exterior balconies, and rows of
long tables occupy most of the space.  There is an alcove off to the side
 where used dishes are being stacked, they are cheaply made decorated
porcelain and wood. The woodwork, once gilt and ornate, is old and
brittle looking. Decoratve scrolls with brush paintings, some stained and
 worn, together with paper lanterns give the impression of a faded
greatness, but there is little of recognizeable value here.
Behind the bussing station, there is a sliding door, and there is another
 pair of them on the other side of it. A scroll written in Sahudese hangs
 on the door behind the bussing station, it says
    "salon of the silver jade ibis"

OOC: Does the salon look accessible, or is it flanked by guards?

She looks to see if either door is unprotected.

There is a young servant stacking dishes in the bussing area, and a man in some
understated armor standing next to the
door, with a sword at his side. A man wearing an apron with pockets, and carrying many small slips of paer marked with a chop is speaking to him.

There is also an entrance to the kitchens on the lower level.

"Airis.. I think the salon is where clients wait for the courtesans of the house. Beyond, are no doubt the women's quarters...though I might be wrong. Perhaps we should go below, through the kitchens, and see what is beneath this place...unless we should split up here, each of us investigating on our own?" Iskander continued whispering:
"If our friends should perhaps start a fight, or ruckus, and the guard intervene, we can watch from wither they came, and know where to infiltrate, next."

There is a fair amount of noise coming from down the steps- a mix of kitchen sounds and voices like a croupier calling for bets... and you can hear the muffled sounds of a brawl.

The cellar, while accessible from the kitchen, and probably at the same depth as the casino, is not accessible from this stairway.

Eg to enter the cellar, one would have to enter through the kitchens via the first floor of the restaurant.

As the waiter carries through the tray, Iskander is able to step through the door, and past a guard who is looking over at a woman standing behind a barred window.

The guard on the other side of the door is looking over at several people standing afound a table. The room is large, and lit by red paper lanterns suspended over gaming tables. There are a few doors, including a pair flanked by two men with strange helmets, and a metal faced one that opens into the cage like area where the woman is handing out tiles to a customer.

The guards by the cage and the doors are equipped like numbah three son was, in medium lamelar armor, and armed with swords and naginatas.

You are now to the left of the doors, as the left hand guard is looking straight out at a gamblung table, and the right ghand guard is looking to
the right at the cage.

In the center of the room, lit by lanterns hanging over each table, are
eight gaming tables. The room is about 12 yards to a side, and has pillars supporting the roof. Over to the left is a bar with two severs and some stools, to the right is the cage area, and in the back of the room, another set of doubke doors with two more guards. They are also looking at the gaming tables.

 on a wooden platform.  The doors close behind them, and the guards roll the cart over to the cage area.

Iskander figures that house winnings from the casino are being deposited into the safe room, and that's where the money is kept...

The guards bring the box up to a small door set below the cage window,
 and raise an odd looking lid. The small door opens downward, and a metal
sleeve slides down to fit against the box. Loud jangling sound of coins being poured
i to the box can be heard. Then the sleeve retracts, the upper door closes and you
can hear a deadbolt. The lid slams down on the iron box, and the guards march it back toward the double doors.

Iskander deftly sneaks back the way he came, and is going to leave the establishment, now that he has seen enough to make a detailed report. If there are any entrances below, Iskander suspects it is within the saferoom, having seen no other ways further below ground level...

The restaurant is at a three way intersection and only one of those counts as an alleyway. It is crowded with fish stalls and Sahudese specialty shops. Accross the wider street is the haunted house.
