A nagatepo is dex-4 or throwing. Innate attack is for fireballs.


The nagatepo bounces onto the floor and explodes in a cloud of smoke, making it hard to see the guard...

Chou-Zhen flips his leather whip to land near the feet of the guard without the red ribbons.  He speaks a soft word -- perhaps more than one word, it's difficult to be certain, even if you can hear clearly.  A crackling, writhing cloud of lightning-like sparks envelopes the smoke surrounding the guard.

"Want more?"

Iskander is fairly close to the two hesitant guards, but vision is obscured by the smoke...

Jin stares at the defiant guard, his eyes not watering in the smoke.
Suddenly, he thrusts forward with the tip of his tetsubo, ramming the second one in the gut. He recovers the tetsubo, all without breaking eye contact with the superstitious guard.

"You have faith in your convictions.  I respect that. He could not make up his mind, so I madde it up for him. Now I ask you one more time, are you more afraid of what your employer will do if this spirit advanves, or of what we will do if you persist?"

Chou-Zhen flails his lightning whip around himself, a display rather than an attack, while staring at the red-ribboned guard.

"Run away, if you have sense."

Ales throws the nagapetto, but fails to hit the guard with the amulet.  "Your amulet may be powerful, but my dark powers shall overpower you", he says in broken Sahudese.

Iskander springs from the shadows, and seizes the ribboned guard, suddenly! He attempts to send him crashing down to the ground floor, by throwing him over the balcony! "Excelsior! Ha-Haa!"

ST roll at -2 to toss him over (or judo as ST) it is a two part roll-you grappled, now execute the throw!

Chye keeps a low profile amongst the other sahudese, and watches the others handle the guards. Not satisfied at the outcome, but impressed by the efficiency at which they were handled. "Osu.."

Looking around for additional guards, Chou-Zhen allows his lightning whip to lapse and transfers his leather whip back to his left hand.  He takes a vial from his belt, discards the stopper, and stuffs a finger in, absorbing the contents.

"Are we all here?  Ready for the next stage?"

The superstitious guard sails over the balcony and smashesvthrough the table Bresnak is at. The others scatter, leaving a clear path to the casino door.

Iskander draws his weapons, pointing a sword forward. "Let's go!"

Ales breaks his illusion and follows the others onwards.

Chye follows behind the group, protecting their rear from would-be pursuers, with "Lóng zhuǎ" *Dragon Claw*, his naginata at the ready. Chye bellows an explanation in Sahudese, as the group pushes through:"This is a punitive raid on behalf of the Daimyo. As his representitives, we have taken over the responsibility of overseeing the shipping of our countrymen, back home for burial. This was your bosse's task, but he has failed, and those in his service have summoned demons which have raised our countrymen to undeath. We had to put them down again, and now we shall finish this task, and see it to completion, and will be confiscating the funds necessary. Do not interfere with us, or we shall be forced to harm you." (Chye is truthful -5) *bellowing with penetrating voice*

Chou-Zhen continually flips his whip (the popper still glowing bright as a torch from a spell a few days previous) as he advances down the stairs toward the casino.  Halfway down, he transfers the leather whip to his right hand, where he continues flipping it to keep it clear of his feet in a movement reminiscent of walking with a cane; with a gesture and a word, a ball of crackling energy forms in his left hand.

OOC: i thought we were ascending, rather than descending?

OOC: the casino is in the basement, but is not directly accessed from the ground floor dining room.  As I remember it, anyway.

you enter the carpeded stair and halfway down, you see a pass-through window to the kitchens (on the ground floor) the stair continues downward.

Iskander listens carefully for footsteps, rattling armor/weapons, or voices...

Chye continues to protect the rear, ready to ward off a pursuit, if necessary. he hopes his speech might have convinced some of the more honorable, to help them, and change their loyalties while they may have a chance for reward and face.
