Chou-Zhen advances up the stairs, following the yellow cloud as the breeze pushes it upward.  He speaks a word as he goes, and his lightning whip springs once more into his left hand.

"Let us follow as quickly as may be.  The less time they have to reform, the better for us."

Chye closes in on gained ground, wary about coming too close to the ashigaru, until there is more room to maneuver.

Airis will head up the steps after she wraps a cloth to cover her mouth to protect her from any gas and once out of the cloud, will look around, ready to step back in for cover..

Iskander stalks closer to the stairs waiting for an opportunity to get by.

Ales attemps to use his attack, but in all the smoke, he is unable to make contact with a target.

Irritated, he reaches into his bag and grabs his last nagapetto and follows quickly with the group.

Jin snatches up the  strongbox, and you make your way up the stairs just beyond the edge of the foul fog.  at the top of the steps, you find one guard passed out, but the others went through the door, along with the cloud...

OOC: that's the door into the second floor lounge?  Or into the ground floor dining area?

Airis will go out the door at the top of the stairs and look for any enemy.

And into the second floor lounge. The area is a mess, fogged up with a foul miasma that obscures vision, the chairs are knocked over, the tables in disarray, you can barely see in front of your face and it is hard to breathe.


Chou-Zen's gusts of wind moved the cloud through the door when it was opened, but once the guards let the door close, it stayed in front of the door.

Chye was able to find his way through the smoke, and towards an exit.

Iskander only barely able to make out the lounge interior, could not see beyond. Rather than flounder about, trying to find an exit, he stealthed towards and along the wall, intending to use it as a guide, instead.

Chou-Zhen, on finding the miasma from his spell hanging around, flips his leather whip ahead of himself and gestures, then steps forward into the space cleared of the yellowish cloud.  He looks around for the second stair that leads down to the dining room, trying to keep track of Chye and Iskander through the haze.

Chye stealthed his way to the dining area, where he would look for an exit.

12:27, Today: Iskander rolled 6 using 3d6.  stealth - 16.
12:26, Today: Iskander rolled 9 using 3d6.  perception - 13.
Iskander regained his bearings and stealthily approached the way towards the dining room.

As the stench cloud clears, you can now see that aside from a few unconscious guards and diners, the upper level is clear, and the stairs down are cleared. Below, you can see a crowd of reinforcements...at the base of the stairs.

There is no sneaking up on them down the one flught of stairs.

(OOC how about climbing rolls?)

(OOC we had three other renegade ashigaru with us, unless they left. we just might have to fight a pitched battle, here. I'll sneak out and climb out windows, on roofs if i have to to escape.)

Chou-Zhen flips his leather whip forward, down a few steps, gestures, and speaks a word; the stairway fills with a cloud of roiling sparks.

"To the balcony!"

Your Ashigaru have been holding back on fighting their former comrades in arms, and have been following you. A few might have haad second thoughts, but having watched you dismember demons and dragonmen, and now showering small lightnigs on the med below, they are backing away.

She will move over to the top of the stairs. She looks down at the bottom of the steps. "Go, everyone, I will come last"

(OOC if I can climb down the wall stealthily, I will to avoid them at the base.)

Jin lowers the chest and his tetsubo, and starts throwing chairs down at the assembled ashigaru below, who seem upset by the spark storm, which is definitely affecting them. Nevertheless, they persist in their formation.

(OOC Sure he could, all he has to do is sling it across his back. It's only a 2 hex polearm, as long as a spear, or two handed sword. It's not like it's a pike, or halberd.)
