The guards are not flankable as they are on the stairs past the doors, which are currently open. The two closest to  Jin are trying to ready their weapons,and the other three are assuming a defensive stance.

OOC:going to need a battle map, lay out.

Chou-Zhen gestures with his left hand, then his queue lashes.  "Gāisǐ de!"

Chou-Zhen steps forward, if necessary, just to where the foremost naginata wielder would have to move to strike him, flips his leather whip forward to its full two yard length, speaks a word and gestures -- without effect.  His queue lashes violently.

Clearly too agitated to remember the Sahudese words, he says "May your mothers all be raped by demons!"

Airis will move around on the wall so she can attack the guards as they come into the room. She slips out her sword.

Chye coordinated with Airis, to attack from the opposite side of the door, from where she had positioned herself.

The two remaining guardsmen on the left rhrust at Jin. One missed, the other is parried with Jin's tetsubo, which smashes the weapon, leaving its owner with a staff instead of a polearm.

14:12, Today: Chye Isuel rolled 14 using 2d6+4.  swing cutting dmg to neck.
14:10, Today: Chye Isuel rolled 13 using 3d6.  sword technique, hit location (neck) - 15
Chye sprang an ambush at the nearest of two ashigaru attacking Jin!

The lead left guard's head flies off his shoulders!
This leaves the staff wielder on the third step, and the three in defensive posture against Chou.


Both 3rd step men are in position to attack Chye.

Chou-Zhen repeats the gesture and word, and this time a dense, yellowish cloud envelops the lower few stairs and the remaining ashigaru.

"Pǎo ba, rúguǒ nǐ yuànyì dehuà."  He makes a shooing motion toward the naginata guards.

The man attacking Chye is up the stairs - and using a polearm. you cannot flank them; they are inside the doorway and up the stairs.

Chye defensively retreats, in order to draw the men into the casino.
He beats his chest, and taunts: "オラ! オラ! オラ!"

The men on the stairs are not retreating or advancing, but are holding the exit as if waiting for something...

Airis will wait for the pole arm to strike out and down the steps and step out to grab it and pull on it using martial arts. She will try to twist it of pull it loose.

The men are all coughing, and one calls for a retreat. They start backing up the stairs, leaving their dead, the iron chest, and broken weapons behind.

Chou-Zhen points toward the stairs and speaks two strange words.  A gentle breeze emanates from his finger, and pushes the yellow cloud up the stairs after the retreating guards.

"It is safe to follow in the clear air."

"Jin-san with your great strength, we can break their ranks if you hurl some heavy casks from the bar, upon them." Chye spoke to the big yakuza.

Jin frowns as he snatches up the bloody iron chest.
"I do not wish to be standing at the base of the stairs when the casks come rolling back down upon me. I might be able to throw such a thing three yards, but could go farther with something smaller  like your wits. What goes up rolls back down."

Chye figured this was Jins way of admitting he wasn't as strong as Chye thought he was.
