A matter of concern for the Hadereum

In reply to Goran the Marked (msg # 440):

The slorn is smacked down hard enough to bite its tongue as its jaw strikes the pavers.

Ichor oozes out of its neck where the sling bullet struck, and a raw red welt is visible on the bridge of its snout where the flaming flail struck.

A blast of foul gas is expelled through the gate where another slorn is bellowing.

In reply to Urrun (msg # 442):

"Looks like you have that one..."

He switches his aim to the head of the next slorn nearest to a gate he can see.

[OOC: Is there a location out of range of all the Slorn stucj behind their gates?]

Urrun, not understanding, puts the sling away and takes out his axe, he goes over and deals the slorn a blow to the head.

All out Attack - extra damage- +2 to rolled damage

[Private to GM: 15:38, Today: Urrun rolled 9 using 3d6.  Blow to head on unconscious target. Make that, even with a -5
15:39, Today: Urrun rolled 12 using 2d6+4.  Axe Damage. Total damage is 14 cutting

In reply to Goran the Marked (msg # 445):

While bloodied and burning, the scaly beast still breasthes raspily.

The center of the room, marked by a darker set of flagstones, seems to demonstrate an area one yard wide that leads to the far door, and seems to avoid the effluvia of the slorn.

In reply to Urrun (msg # 448):

Hograth moves to the centre area out of range of the others., where he will Kneel down so e can brace his corssbow on his knee (or shield) and shoot carefully and accurately at the caged slorn, taking his time with each.

"Why don't the rest of you stay in the room with that dead one, while I deal with the others from a safe distance with the crossbow..."

[Private to GM: Assume range < 10 yards, -4, Grate, -4, Skill 18+6(Acc) +1 Determined) +1(braced) +2 (Extra time)-7 (Head) = Target of 13.

First shot, 15, so miss.
15 rounds later,
rolled 9, so 6 under...rolled 17 damage x 4 = 68 points unless dodged.

Should I keep rolling? He has Armoury at 11 in case of a critical failure, and an unlimited supply of regular ammunition, but it will take some time...4 shots per minute!

In reply to Hograth Podkarmen (msg # 449):

Urun finally dispatches the first slorn. meanwhile the one Hograth shot in the forehead seems to be too stupid to realize that it is dead... and continues to spit poison.

the other gate  beside that one seems to have a different inhabitant, as a blast of flame erupts from the bars of its portcullis.

Keeping a very large distance between himself and the gate, Goran tries to see if he can recognize the creature breathing fire.

In reply to Goran the Marked (msg # 451):

Hograth checks to ensure he is out of range of the fire-breathing creature, and continues to reload and fire his crossbow, as needed.

[Private to GM: A few more attacks if he is not reached by any danger. If he is, he will move to a safe location to reload!

Rolled 5 under target to hit, rolled 11 x 4 = 44 damage to head. Takes 15 seconds though!

The firebreather seems to be another breed of slorn, this one rust colored as opposed to greenish black.

The beast, bolts through its head seems enraged, and is slamming itself against the gate.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 453):

Hograth continues to stay out of range and fire at the slorn, targeting the injured on until it drops, then targeting the others. He fires 4 times over the next minute...

[Private to GM: Rolled a number of attacks and damages, though mixed up a few that should have +4 added (damage 3d+4) and those that should not (attacks). Corrected results below:
Attack 1, 4 under to hit, 13x4=52 damage.
Attack 2, 1 under to hit, 13x4=52 damage.
Attack 3, 3 under to hit, 21x4=84 damage.
Attack 4, 5 under to hit, 11x4=44 damage.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 455):

Hograth shakes his head ant the sheer number of the rounds required to kill these things! He continues to load and fire at the remaining critters, glad of the bars.

"Make sure that other one is dead...these things are too dumb to know when to die, apparently!"

After taking another 2 minutes, he will look around to reassess the situation...

[Private to GM: Ok, assuming they cannot attack, 2 more minutes of firing 4 rounds per minute.

Noticed the last round from the previous batch did 44-DR(2)x4=36 damage to a new one.

Round 1: 1 under to hit, 10-2DR = 8x4 damage = 32 imp if not dodged.
Round 2: 2 under to hit, 12-2DR = 10x4 damage = 40 imp if not dodged.
Round 3: 6 under to hit, 16-2DR = 14x4 damage = 56 imp if not dodged.
Round 4: 3 over to hit.
Round 5: 1 over to hit, Possible Torso hit?? No matter
Round 6: 8 under to hit, 13-2DR = 11x4 damage = 44 imp if not dodged.
Round 7: 1 under to hit, 12-2DR = 10x4 damage = 40 imp if not dodged.
Round 8: 5 under to hit, 14-2DR = 12x4 damage = 48 imp if not dodged.
