Re: A matter of concern for the Hadereum

Hograth continues to slash away at the undead torsos...

[Private to GM: Rolled 7 under to hit, 10 cut damage, and 5 under retreating Dodge if needed.

Parry against an unarmed foe does damage, does it not? Or are these guys armed?

In reply to Hograth Podkarmen (msg # 616):

Parried by weapons do damage, and these are unarmed opponents. I wasn't sure if that was a shield bash or an axe parry.

Urrun cleaves into its torso, and its rotting intestines spill onto the floor. [private to Urrun: the sword is a broadsword, with +1 pussiance]

More dead can be heard shambling closer to this group of 3 badly damaged and two un harmed undead.

In reply to Walking corpse (msg # 619):

The one Hograth hit again still going? If it is, Hograth will keep swinging away, using his shield only in concert with his axe to parry any attacks as painfully possible. Not that the dead feel pain...

[Private to GM: Attack, 7 under skill to hit, 5 cutting damage to torso, parry with axe, 2 under skill to hit if used in concert with shield, 8 cut damage.]

In reply to Hograth Podkarmen (msg # 620):

You are effectively taking an all out attack.
The dead thing goes down on the first strike.

One claws at Goran, and misses.
Another tries to close with Urrun, and claws for 5 crushing before DR unless dodged or parried... parries doing damage of course.

Re: A matter of concern for the Hadereum

Urrun attempts an all out Defense, his parry misses the clumsy move of the corpse but his dodge allows him to avoid the blow ...

[Private to GM:     11:50, Today: Urrun rolled 14 using 3d6.  Parry. missed by 4
11:54, Today: Urrun rolled 7 using 3d6.  Dodge. made by two

In reply to Urrun (msg # 622):

Hograth waits for the next one, axe poised to strike...

[Private to GM: I though that since parry was a defence, something not possible with an all out attack, that one excludes the other. My understand, possibly flawed, was that it was a regular attack with a standard defence (a parry) that could actually benefit from the retreating maneuver, though not as much as a dodge. A little confused...]

In reply to Hograth Podkarmen (msg # 623):

I need to read up on parrying with weapons vs unarmed attacks... it seemed a broad loophole...

...and having done so yes, it essentally give you a hit on the attacking limb when you successfully parry. This works, because it is at the lower parrying roll rather than the weapon skill roll. Carry on.

The zed attacking (unsuccessfully) Urrun has turned its back to Goran, who now swings at it, smashing its spine and setting it ablaze like so much tinder...

Re: A matter of concern for the Hadereum

Urrun, ready to swing at the Creature attacking him sees it suddenly smashed and set afire ... Goran appears behind it as the thing sinks to the floor. Urrun nods Good   and looks for another one close enough to hit, again he swings in a downward arc to take the creature from right should to left hip.

11:42, Today: Urrun rolled 7 Cutting using 2d6+2.  Sword Damage.
