She continues nibbling on the rations.

Haveron frowned, a morbid affair this bounty thing was "Just dont put it near anything that will spoil" he said.

The caravan master of arms examines it. "And so it begins. Cast this dog by the side of the road. I recognize this arrow... Haveron, are any of your group archers as well? I expect more distance fighting... soon."

Haveron nodded "Aye, a few of these seem a fairly dab hand at dealing with people at range. I'm not too shabby myself at putting a few arrows in people. We will have a few to return any fire that we come across. But we'll need to be covered if we come under attack so that we can re-arrow our strings without requiring constant focus on incoming missiles.

"I had hoped to have hired more archers, but the woods elf I had heard of seems to have been occupied, it is often a random thing who one xan hire at the market. I hope your fire witches are good at distance work."

Haveron leaned into Amelia and whispered "Are wizards always so focused on spellcraft? I wonder if any of them ever just get drunk and attend court balls or celebrations he said with a grin.

Then, looking to the caravan official he spoke again WEll, the point is that we do have a ranged capability. So can offer some fire back should we come under fire. Plus, the caravans themselves would provide cover also. Anyone that is capable of scouting at all could potentially flank an opposing force. he said with good cheer.

"Now one spell I do have is good for parties, it is water to wine" she says with a smile. "OK, I will flank the enemy once we find them"

Haveron patted Sorscha on the back and grinned "See? There we have it. indicating their tactical maneuverability with perhaps an over abundance of levity.

As you ascend into the mountains, you realize that you will soon reach an area where another mpuntain will be to the right dide of the road... an are where it may be possible that you will be flanked, and very possibly with missile fire from both sides, although the nearly vertical face of the leftward cliff will be closer and more likely to be a location where things are dropped down...

"Can a few of us move to the top of that there cliff? It would be a great place to find ambushers. The Caravan should wait back here until we reach there to be safe...you will see me once we reach there!"

Gareth suggests, still holding his fireball.

"Agreed, a couple heading up to each side of this chasm could ensure that anyone at the top is distracted enough to not rain fire down on us.

I'll stay with the caravan, a shield is more useful down here. But if anyone needs a spare bow, they can use mine. he said while glancing up at the mountain pass. This was definitely the place to execute an ambush. The man frowned at the whole concept of it... he much preferred an open battle where people were pitted against each other rather than sneaking and skulking in preparation for slaughter. It was certainly distasteful.

Amelia, stay close to me or the caravan. Use it as cover. I don't want you getting hit he said, leaving open no room for argument.

"Can I stay down here then? Seems easier than walking up a cliff."

"I will get up the side with the steeper side. I will head up there." she says with a grin.

Haveron nodded and then added "Try not to get yourself in too much trouble up there Sorscha. Be sure to run off if anything turns against your favour. he said, wanting to ensure the woman was safe too.
