Berry can spot three different figures crouched behind boulders high up the right hand slope. One is immediately above Gareth, and is reaching into its quiver, about to draw its bow.

Gareth merely misses with the fireball, setting some brush ablaze on the hillside opposite the cliff. Again, no one but Sorsha can see what is up there, and Gareth was trying to get to higher ground to do so when he stumbled onto a lurking bandit.

As if the fireball was a signal, shouts echoe from both sides of the pass and at least half a dozen arrows fly toward the road from the side of the hill.

The eruption of flame catches Gorgath's attention and he turns to see arrows being launched.
With a muffled complaint, the ogre moves back to the wagons as well, but looks to both cliffsides in an attempt to count his enemies.

There is a thunderclap from atop the cliff.

Gareth sees someone behind cover (-4 to hit) above him.

Gorgath counts (holds up spread fingers of one hand) this many arrows flying from the hillside toward the trail.

Berry cannot see where Var has gotten to.

An arrow strikes the opposite side of the wagon the Adept dove behind.

One of the Drovers are hit.

The other arrows seem to miss.

Gareth notes the movement. A target! He flings the fireball at the one behind the rocks, guiding it with his mind. It seems to be a good shot...

She tries to shoot the man hit with the lighting ball with a stone missile.

Combat has begun! Socially acceptable time to shoot people. Berry picks one of the bandits she can see at random, points her hand towards one of the bandits she can see and lazily taking a second to aim and then flicks her wrist releasing a bolt of magic.  The mana flow through well worn and practiced grooves before shooting out towards the victim.

Sorsha slams the man squarely in the back of the head  with her stone missile, knocking him unconscious.

Berry's magic bolt strikes one of the archers on the hiltop squarely in the torso... incidentally frightemning him.

Sorsha fires another missile at another enemy.

Berry sees the hit strike home and smiles. This was a good trick. Berry fires again after taking a second to make sure she'll hit the target. She targets the same archer that got hit the first time.

Another archer draws a bead on Gareth, and is about to aim.

Below, the sounds of sorcery crackle above, but only a few archers are to be seen among the enemy.

Gareth releases the fireball at the same time that the man fires his arrow from behind cover.
The man bursts into flames and howls with pain, Gareth takes 3 points impaling to the torso before DR.
