The ranger was pointing up on the clif face, something is there, by the edge... there looks to be someone lying atop the cliff, just peeking over the edge.

Gorgath had walked near the front of the caravan, his head often staring upwards towards the sky. All his years below ground had faded his memories of the open sky.

Along with his lack of any ability to notice anything, this had deprived him of noticing anything.

Sorsha can detect life where the ranger subtly indicated.

Gareth is not in advance with her and would be unable to have seen the gesture, although he can see her bright red hair. He has a fireball in hand...

Sorsha announced she was going ahead to scout;Gareth is not in range of her or the ranger. As he was trying to indicate a hidden observer, he made a subtle gesture with his hand against his chest, not pointing with an outstretched arm.

The relative distance is beyond maximum range of a fireball, well over a hundred yards ahead of the caravan, and more than twenty-four yards up the clif face on the side of the road. I should have articulated that better.

Oh, in that case Gareth would unlikely have seen the gesture and therefore his fireball wold have to wait, until he sees or of told of danger.

Wait is the fireball cast and being held, or uncast?

Only cast if Gareth is aware of possible enemies. Otherwise, he will have to wait until he sees or learns of them.

Sounds like Berry totally misses the commotion to then!

The ranger leans close to Sorsha and whispers <Small>"Make yourself visible, but do not look that way. I will deal with him. I just need his eyes occupied"<Small> with that he slinks away under cover of his camouflage cloak. You can hear his bow creaking...

Haveron looked around at all the commotion and, obviously having not spotted the man on the cliff leaned in to the red haired elf woman and asked. "what is it? Did you cast magic then?" having had his interest piqued.

He had been told by the lizard of the change in feeling of the caravan, almost as if they were anticipating something. With the events that had taken place recently too, Haveron suspected ill also, it was just a case for them all ot be prepared and ready to ensure nothing caught them out too badly. Caravans to these place were all too vulnerable to the musings of malicious people and the mountainous area up ahead made for some of the better territory to perform such nefarious acts.

"Amelia, my dear, please do stay close" he suggested gently as they continued to press on.

A Wilhelm scream breaks the silence, as a body falls off the cliff above the trail, and lands not far from Sorsha, with an arrow protruding from it.

Sorsha will move over to the body and searches it. She hopes the ranger is still watching.

The extremely dead person was a middle aged man wearing worn layered clothing. There was a waterskin, now burst, and a packet of rations, now ruined, and a now bent cheap knife.

Hearing the scream Berry will saunter over to the dead man. "Did you just murder a random person?" Berry asks no one in particular. She will however take the packet of rations, open it and begin nibbling on it.

Gorgath stopped and spun around to find the source of the scream.

Unable to find the direct source, he did notice the small group forming and moved closer.

No one else is immediately visible on the cliff above, but there may be clues there. You are definitely entering babdit country.
