In reply to Narrator (msg # 85):

"He called himself Nicholas Flamel, But I knew that was horseshit. He always wrote some crap on the back, or was just too cheap to use fresh parchment. I never met him directly, he always had some goon that was reciting stuff and looked confused when he got an off script question. Every time, someone different, but they always headed back toward a spot on Dockside north of the Cathedral."

“Brilliant,” he said, turning and heading for the door.

He didn’t even turn his head, just called back to the group: “Today?!”

Oz looks around at the group. "Is it just me, or has he gotten a little bossy? He shrugged and followed Rick out the door.

22:02, Today: Osgood rolled 6 using 3d6.  streetwise 13. Hoping to talk up some of the locals in the area and find out more about this nick dude. rumors, location, how dangerous is he, etc.

Espiri shrugs and follows right behind the others. He does think to ask before he steps out the door, "Are we sure that demon corpse isn't valuable?"

Re: At a back table in the guildhall

In reply to Arthur (msg # 90):

Petty demons mostly melt away when killed; greater demons have valuable blood, hearts, horns and teeth. If salted quickly, petty demons can be flayed for superior scroll and spellbook material, this must be done within an hour of death; a typical petty demon hide can be made into 2d pages of fine vellum that has a bonus for demonological texts and scrolls.

You head out of the guild, and towards that odd triangle between the spires of the Cathedral of the Tripartite god, the Dismal Tower of the Sages' Guild, and the daunting Adamantine abode of Shadow Elves, Twilight house. Edging on the intersection of the Dockside, Redlight, and Artisanal districts, the area is a little seedy. Just the same, smoke can be seen puffing out of the chimneys of several buildings.

You hear a little chatter, the origin of the blue paut seems to be from someone calling themselves Nicholas Flamel...

Iq-2 for Theadric for a lore check, and alchemy at -3 to figure out the  recipie suggested on the back of the note

Re: At a back table in the guildhall

"Hold on, if I am remembering right, this particular type of demon can be salted and turned into a few valuable resources but we only have an hour before the body starts to melt away." Arthur says moving back towards the dead demon.

"Let us move the body to our room and acquire some salt before we move on to dealing with our bounty."

Arthur continues to inspect the body, he turns back to make sure his friends are returning to help and must walk around the head in order to see them.

OOC:Not sure how much salt I would need to do this or how long it takes to do the skinning but would do that before moving on...

"If you're sure there's money in it, I'll move the body." Valdnur says grabbing the thing around the middle and hefting it over his shoulder, "Have you got money for the components you need or am I financing that too?"

"Thank you Vilgar and again sorry for drawing on you..." Valdnur says with a nod and an awkward smile. He turns to walk to his room and a bit of ichor flips to sizzle on a nearby table of guild members, "Whoops, sorry about that. At least non of it got in your porridge eh?"

In reply to Valdnur Silverheart (msg # 93):

It will take about two lbs of salt and a surgery or dungeon butchery roll, yield is in vellum at $20 per sheet, 2d(-fail on surgery or dungeon butchery roll)

That much salt costs $20, so a clean job minimum doubles your money.

Re: At a back table in the guildhall

"Nah, Valdy unlike some I am not stupid enough to run myself out of money completely. I have plenty of silver for all the salt needed for this job, just need a bit of time to start peeling this sucker. It won't be as profitable as an actual bounty but I am sure we can get at least a couple silvers out of this wimps hide."

Taking a quick detour to buy $20 worth of salt Arthur then proceeds to salt and skin the demon to the best of his ability. Never having done this himself before makes his work a bit slower and challenging but he manages to do a passable job from the memory of his mentor doing it once before.

18:17, Today: Arthur rolled 12 using 3d6.  Dungeon Butcher(default IQ-5)/12.

The dwarf shifts his load, flicking more ichor about, "See Art, that's what I like about you, good business sense; every bit of silver helps. I'll get it situated, you run see if you can buy some salt from the kitchen? Hurry back though this thing is starting to drip a little."

In reply to Arthur (msg # 98):

As the Hadereum frowns on demons that are not in hell, there are no open shops, but a streetwise (with occultism or demon lore as a complimentary skill) would help locate one. Failing that, Spielgud the enchanter on the upper floor of the guild might buy it, using standard wealth based selling rolls.

In reply to Arthur (msg # 100):

You follow a trail of suggestive graffiti deep into the mostly orcish Redlight district. Not sure whose turf, but there is a basement shop that looks like the right place. It has only the hook that held a sign, but some chalkwork on the opposite wall seems to mean this is the right place.

The door at the base of the narrow steps is heavy, and charred black. You can see that fresh soot was dumped on the steps, obscuring prior steps, but making yours noticeable. You rap on the door and a vouce cautiously calls "Who goes there?"

A small window opens in the previously featureless door, and a long nosed yellowish face peers out. The window slams shut, and reopens at Arthur's face level. The same face peers out, squints, and then the face withdraws, the window slams shut and disappears, and the door opens, revealing a goblinoid person about five feet tall.

Arthur lets out a slight sneer at the idea of the Hadereum.

Producing a single piece of demonskin Vellum Arthur says
"My friends are holding the rest of these but I thought I would give you a glance at the wares I am offering. Before bringing the whole stock"

Giving the hooded figure a knowing smirk Arthur hands over the remaining sheets and accepts his coin as reward completely ignoring shopkeepers help.

"Now that price seems a bit more agreeable. Pleasure doing business with you sir."

Arthur then quickly turns and leaves expecting Valdnur to follow as they catch up with the rest of the group.
