Re: At a back table in the guildhall

"No harm done." Valdnur grunts then jogs along to catch up with Arthur. Due to Rick's meandering distractable pace it isn't difficult for them to catch their teammates just as they're entering the dockyards.

"Arthur made the messenger into five sheets of paper and I got us five silver per page." Valdnur says, "I'll distribute it back at the hall, no good sense flipping silver about in this area..."

The likely site proposed by the ogre has signs of minimal inhabitation, but there are a couple chimneys going strong.

In reply to Osgood (msg # 116):

The door seems to have some kind of trapping system- it looks like a tripwire
Will be pulled if the door is opened, possibly setting off an alarm or triggering a mechanism inside the room beyond the door. The lock opens smoothly otherwise- it has been oiled!

Re: At a back table in the guildhall

Tou are able to snatch hold of the tripline and disengage it from the door. Now you can open the door without setting it off, but you need to tie off the line or nail to the doorway to keep the tension the same when you open the door.

"Alright, after we get that tied we're going in. Os, you lead, then Espiri, Arthur, and Rick; I'll bring up the rear." Valdnur says pulling out two pistol crossbows and checking that they're fully loaded, "Any additions, corrections, or deletions to the plan?"

Re: At a back table in the guildhall

In reply to Theadric Greenbottle (msg # 120):

You find a loose nail and tie off the line.  With the door open, you can see that the line would have fired a crossbow both at human head height at the doorway - only Espiri would have been at risk. The line continues from there, looking as if it might have set off an alarm as well as the crossbow.

Beyond the door is a smallish room, with wide plank flooring and rough plaster walls. There is a fireplace, and despite the smoke you saw from above, there is no fire in the fireplace.

Re: At a back table in the guildhall

Espiri steps over the tripline and into the room. He makes sure to be a few inches off the ground as he walks around. He notes where the crossbow is placed, and says quietly, "Of course it would only have been me to get shot. You lot are all too short!"

He then asks in a half-whisper, "What now? We still have no idea if we are in the right place or not."

once everyone was inside Arthur decides it is time to bring out his friend just in case there are any unsavory people in the area.

"Now we bring out a little muscle in case this cannot be solved peacefully."

In reply to Arthur (msg # 125):

The room dims, and there is a smell like hot iron and burnt flesh, that quickly becomes sulferous and a shadow forms in the center of the room, whispy at first, but gradually forming the angular shape of a batwinged horned demon, muscular and equipped with a jaggedly spiked polearm.
His eyes glow like the embers of a ruined hope.

"Or are you too tall Espiri?" Oz begins to follow the line pausing to take the bolt out of the crossbow without triggering it. "Here Valdnur, no charge."

Is there another door out of the room?

"Khoza, it is not yet time for fun, first you must stay quiet and follow in line. You will follow Ozzy there and if something attacks him then you get to have your fun."

Arthur may only stand up to Khozapukt's kneecap but he clearly does not fear this demon.

Khozapukt merely silently nods in agreement and gets in line quietly behind osgood. Only the gleam of his eyes show his excitement for the combat ahead.

In reply to Arthur (msg # 128):

The room is small, three yards by four, with a low ceiling just above two yards. There is a rickety looking ladder leading to a loft area under the eaves, and a broken table to one side.
