As they get closer to the group, Aegis pulls the rope from where it hangs on the side of his pack and drops his axe into it's holster at his belt. He walks around them and starts to tie them up, the rope around their wrists, then to the next man and so on until they are all tied together.

"We should take them back to town and collect on their bounty. First off, however, we need to figure out where Balar is. Any of you good at interrogation? I mean, I can punch them until they talk, but we'd be at risk of them losing consciousness. We can hook them up.to the mule though, until we decide what we're going to do with them."
He pulls the wanted poster from his pocket and compares the picture to the rabble lined up in front of him. He walks to the first man in line and smirks at him.
"Have you seen this man? Where is he? If you tell me, I may find the last bit of mercy I have in this heart of mine for you. The bill doesn't say a thing about bringing you lot back alive."
Aegis holds the poster in front of the man's face.

"We could take these.men back to the guards tower and have them hold them there until we find balar and can collect on our bounty. I think we should bring the guards to this shanty as well, it seems to be a home for highwaymen to me. They may even reward us for bringing it to their attention. I would suggest, however that Mel does the talking. They'd probably be more eager to take the word of a man of the cloth before me."

Melchizadek, his hand glowing, steps forward.

"So, you would rob the church or Helios of the tithes due to her, would you? I can understand desperation, and I am sure you were offered good money, so in order to lessen your punishment, tell us who ordered this attack. Do you really think they will loose cash to save you from your incompetency? Lets be real...we all know that they will let you rot in prison, unless they have a use for you. But we can help you. I offer freedom to the man that tells me where to find Balar, and I offer leniency to the man that tells me who ordered this attack.

Of course, the man that tells me where to find Balar will have to accompany me, as a prisoner so he will not suffer repercussions, until we find him. But better than a prison cell, right?"

Aegis walks away and to the man with the axe in his chest. He places his foot on the man's shoulder and bends down, wrenching the axe free with a quick jerk. He turns and walks back to the group talking to the man, pulling a rag from a pocket in his leather jacket. When he arrives, he makes it a point to clean the man's friend's blood from the blade in front of him, an unspoken threat evident.
"You had best answer the priest's questions. He seems a lot less prone to violence when he doesn't get what he wants. You don't want me to start asking questions. We will get answers from you,
one way or another."

In reply to Aegis (msg # 214):
"He said it was a merchant wearing blue and white, and that he and Malcom would have the drop on him. He said nothing about sorcerers or soldiers or the target being a priest. We were to shake our sticks and threaten."

"And why exactly were you and yours supposed to threaten us? What's in that village of yours? You or the man Bart ever hear been to a tavern I. Town called the Wench?" he looks menacingly at the village.
"I will burn down every last sign that you and your fellow highwaymen even settled out here if I don't start hearing what I want to hear."

"A tavern wench? I have no idea what Bart does inside the walls. Village? you call our shacks a village? And me a highwayman! Hah! I am but a beggar, sometimes part of a mob."

"Regardless, you have your own eyes. You can see clearly who I am, right? I have spent many hours in these exact clothes helping people such as, possibly including, yourself. Bart will be responsible for his actions, and answer for them when the ice releases him. But you must answer for your actions. You do not mindlessly do what Bart says, so tell me all you know about him and his associates."

In reply to Melchizidek (msg # 218):

The man shrugs.
"Just him and one or two others sometimes come when there is a crowd, like on a market day of fair. People clutch their purses, even hidden ones when they see us, and Bart and the others watch and pick their pockets, and give us a coin or two for making a fuss. That is about it. We dare not enter the city, unguilded as we are, or be arrested for vagrancy by the purple priests and sold into slavery."

"Well, it doesn't seem like we're going to get much out of him. At least until his friend unfreezes. Of course we could start shooting them and eventually one of them will tell us something useful. Anyone wish to accompany me to the shanty and check it out? Maybe there are women or children there that we can use as leverage."
Aegis gives the others a chance to follow him and then walks off towards the shanties, axe in hand. When he arrives he slows down a bit, surveying the area.

"Still not a valid excuse for attacking someone who is clearly a priest. You should be handed over to the dispensers of justice if that is the best you can come up with."

He stays with the prisoners.

Melchizadek sighs.

"We still have to see justice brought. Lets take the prisoners, except for our frozen friend, to the town watch, and return to see what our frozen friend knows."

As the discussion continues, Dne takes a few minutes to relax and recover energy.

"I can also," rasped Darius, "release him right now. That way, nobody can remove him. Would you care to cover him?"

"Lets hand these over to the town guard first. Then we can deal with him in our time. If you can keep him frozen that long..."

"Most of the time, I can. But I'd prefer keeping somebody here with him in case it doesn't last as long."

Aegis hears bits of their conversation on his way back and nods a greeting to the group again.
"I can stay here with this fool.
I'll even try to find a nice hiding spot in case they had any more friends that were late to their little party. 
Aegis attempts to find a hiding spot and fails.
