Re: Near the bone gate
"That makes good sense to me."  Mario pauses.

"Say, if, ah, you called that a bhole?  If it's drawn to the scent of dead fish, mightn't it be attracted to a place where the Saturnines are storing dead cuttlefish to dye their robes?"

"Either way, we should probably head up to street level as quickly as we can."

"Agreed." He thought for a moment, then said "Actually, if it is that large that it cannot turn around, can we run up behind it and cut it to pieces with relative impunity?"

Jocelyn shrugs ... It doesn't sound like it swings it's tail forward in these narrow tunnels, so it must have some means of knowing where to stick it.

The corridor walls and floor are streaked with foul slime, and there is a greasy trail of bones, many larger than mansized. In the distance, you can see a shattered gate ripped from its hinges.

In reply to Jareth Mooncalled (msg # 581):

Occ dear gods, I have been working with a theoretical map rather than an actual one for a couple of years now. Iirc, you are now in the hall past the bone gate room, near the cultists access point, which is by the large room you stenched them in. The broken gate is the one that was between the common cellar area where the bone gate was, and the main corridor from there that lead to the cultist area after turning, and eventually  leads to the main central corridor.

No worries.  That's why I asked, I wasn't sure where we were in relation to home base.

It does mean that Jareth might be wrong about the direction the bhole was heading though, if so, please let me know.  ;)

Mario looks once again at the destruction from the great worm's passage.  "That grate didn't look like it even slowed the worm down!  Probably good that we couldn't open the door."

OOC: You might be turned around, Jarath, but I'm not.  Absolute Direction.

The bhole may have been heading north and east. The way back is clear, if unsecured.

So presuming we're somewhere in the Redlight/Artisan district*, it's definitely headed bayward.

* The Junior House is just inside Redlight, near the Artisan district right?

Wait... I got my east and west mixed up again... so it's heading to little Shevnia?  Hmmm...

I'm still not seeing a problem...  :P

The Ymid scrapes some of the slime into a vial, and then approaches the smashed gate.

The metal runs through its fingers, forming strange patterns, and achieves the semblance of a gate, although it is oe that hurts your brain to look directly at.

In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 592):

The Ymid peers through the bone gate for what seems to be an overly ling period of time, the Yr-go twittering anxiously. It reaches it's gnarled staff through the pirtal, and hauls out a large mangled piece of metal that wobbles a footor so above the ground. Slowly the creature turns toward you.
