In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 376):

Thankfully, no one failed enough to get flashbacks. All of you are acutely aware that the shord once had three spellstones containing wishes of varying strength, and that one remains. You also have a better understanding of the nature of pain.

Perhaps using the last wish to heal or cure him?  Can't leave him like this and would feel guilty for doing further harm to him.

Mario, having recovered himself after the mental shock, checks the arrows that he stabbed into the wounded man.  Can't be long until the first one vanishes.

The rest of you may not be able to name what is wrong with the wounded man's mind, but Jareth percieves that he might be berserk, on the edge, with probable vouces and flashbacks along with confusion.

"Could the Hadereum heal his mind?  I'm pretty sure we can get him there in this state, if Ymid can keep him paralyzed long enough -- though we probably don't want to parade him in the streets if we can help it."  Mario glances at the fellow with an eyeball for a head.

"He was weak enough we could probably manage him anyway, if it would help.

"If they can't help him, we might do him a favor by cutting his throat."

"From what I -- we all -- just saw, I don't think he'd be a good choice to try to put a man's mind back right.

"But I think what he was perceiving was the magic on this man, and healing his mind probably won't change that."

Jareth has been keeping his eye on the cursed man during this conversation to see how much he's taking in , and how cognizant he is of the implications.

"I would only be able to suspend the enchantment...there seems to be something
of a conditional escape clause... Much as would be found in someone ensorcelled, although
this seems voluntary...and something of a syntactical error, thus providing a loophole I
believe the slow legged one (grossly distorted image of Mario) and the one who is a conduit
to and pact with external geological allegorical entity (distorted image of Nodwin) have
already been exploiting."

Mario once more touches the fletching on the first arrow he stabbed into the man.
"This should have vanished by now, shouldn't it?
It usually takes between sixty and ninety heartbeats, but I lost count."
