Re: Near the bone gate

OOC:  Does this new wound look worse or better than the ones where weapons were ripped out?  Or is it just a hole where the arrow was?

Also, how does the patient seem to be taking things?  The wounds and the conversation?

Re: Near the bone gate

Mario turns his concentration to the man's condition, right hand hovering at the fletching of the single arrow in his quiver, then frowns.

"I'm really starting to find this unpleasant."  His tone is quizzical.

As the second arrow fades, he is bleeding more. His eyes dart toward Nodwin. There are maybe a dozen heartbeats until the last arrow fades.

Re: Near the bone gate

Jareth starts bandaging the cursed man, using bandages if anyone has them*, or cutting sacks up if necessary.

"Mario, gently stick 'im here," Jareth points at one of the wounds, "an try to not go deep with t'e arrow."

OOC:  * If someone has bandages, say so.  Otherwise, I'll presume Jareth is cutting up his sacks.

I'm not sure at the moment what gwythaint meant by "the flesh mortifies at the site" in response to Nodwin's healing attempt (msg #274).  Back then (what 4 months ago) I read it as "necrotizes" which is not the same definition at all.

So now, having gone back to double check, I'm wondering you meant Narrator?  Did his flesh react with shame or embarrassment?  ;)

Necrotizes would have been the better word; while he still had weapons in, healing caused the flesh to blister and blacken, as with gangrene.

Re: Near the bone gate

Mario draws the arrow from his quiver, and attempts to stab it into the wound Jareth indicated.  He then returns his hand to the fletching on the single arrow in his quiver, trying to both watch for the other arrow to fade, and track the wounded man's condition.

"Bleeding from wounds is normal.  The magic might be undone, at least for the moment, when the arrows vanish."

You successfully stab him. Under normal circumstances you could only have one arrow in existence at a time. These were some strong magics.

Waiting for nearly a minute, Nodwin watches the arrow carefully, the instant it starts fading he calls upon Vejovis' power. He smiles with a look of happiness as the holy power flows through him.

With Jareth's proclamation, Mario relaxes, wipes his bloody hands on his breeches, and begins moving around the room, collecting his dropped staff and bow.

"That went better than it might have.  Early on, I thought we'd have to find a way to kill him.

"I wonder who managed to chain him up and put him here?"

Re: Near the bone gate

In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 415):

While he lays there gasping, you can see that the small triangular room
he was in is strewn with bones that look like they have been there for
some time.

Although he seems susceptible to healing in a normal way, he may still be quite deranged.

Btw, while limited wish cannot remove disadvantages, it could be used to swap them for disadvantages of equal value.

Re: Near the bone gate

In reply to Jareth Mooncalled (msg # 419):

I meant say that this was a lesser wish, power wise, but it has been a long time since I had read that part of Enchantments. This is a Greater Wish, that has limiting enchantments on it, to reduce some of its range of effect. Exactly what those limits are may be determined by trial and error (nothing happened, try again).

The bones, once separated, appear to be of goblins. The skulls seem a bit odd, however, and there are  two pair of dark bronze looking thick wrist cuffs.
