In reply to something not right (msg # 446):

Brodak staggers back with a shrill grunt ... Lifting his axe again.

[Private to GM: 11:33, Today: Brodak rolled 11 using 3d6.  Block with shield, skill is 12 ; Torso DR is 5 versus cutting and he has resistance +3 to metabolic hazards, which may help... Otherwise 7 to the torso is going to slow him a lot as he recovers his axe (unbalanced weapon)]

In reply to Brodak (msg # 449):

The thing shrieks as it takes an arrow to its remaining eye, and its claws rake uselessly on Brodak's shield, leaving deep gouges.

Blinded and bleeding, it wavers on its feet.

"What is that thing?"  Mario's voice is a near shriek, even as his right hand finds the other silver arrow, nocks it, draws, and looses.

In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 452):

Marrios arrow strikes it in the torso as Jareth  smacks it in the side. It collapses on the  ground, oozing ichor.  Its claws twitch spasmodically, and then it is still.

"Did the silver make a difference?"  Mario looks around to Jareth, Nodwin, and Jocelyn, in hopes one of them will know, as he steps forward to recover his arrows.  He carefully wipes them clean of ichor before returning them to their quiver.

Jareth pulls out his surgery tools and starts cutting into the demon's chest.

"Just like faced it two days ago.  Still got ya axe wound t'ere," he indicates where Brodak whacked it in the head and chest last time, "an t'ere, Brodak.  We cut out t'e heart, exorcise it, t'en burn t'e heart.  T'en it flee to hell."

In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 457):

"Your Brethren have some knowledge, not entirely accurate. This," The Ymid reaches into the chest cavity with both hands and its knife and removes a maroon turnip shaped organ,"Is its heart.  Beside it, you will find its liver... This one seems to have had a problem with alchohol consumption, as you can see by this cyst here, and the darker tubules here... and here."

HT checks for those without curiosity... this is kinda gross.

The Ymid takes the heart, and places it inside a strange square pouch made of some kind of glossy transparent material, and rubs its fingers across a set of yellow and blue strands at the top, which magically become green.,

Mario turns away suddenly as Ymid begins pointing at things inside the creature's body cavity.  "Just like butchering a steer."

His tone of voice suggests he doesn't believe what he's saying.  His color suggests he was trying to convince himself -- and failed.

Re: Near the bone gate

None of this seems to bother Jareth at all.

"As I ken it Mario, t'e burnin of t'e heart keep it from ressurectin from it, t'e heart t'e Center of Power.  T'e exorcisin t'e body removes t'e ties to Hell, so another demon can't just hop in, an burnin t'e body keeps anything else, like opportunistic ghosts or tulpas takin control of it."

He rocks back onto his heels, "Should be safe to harvest few valuable bits," and Jareth begins poking around in it's innards doing just that.

OOC:  Both Curious, and has Physiology and Surgery.  Pullin things out of dead things is Jareth's bag...

15:30, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 10 using 3d6.  Fright Check, Will 13 (Rule of 14).

15:38, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 10 using 3d6.  Hidden Lore (Demons) 11.  Anything of value?

15:45, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 9 using 3d6.  Surgery 12, harvestin the good stuff.

Re: Near the bone gate

In reply to Jareth Mooncalled (msg # 467):

While the ichor is a primary ingredient in Demon Blood Wine, and if properly extracted (rendering demon unconscious, hanging from heels, slitting throat over a silvered bowl) can be sold to an alchemist.  The skin, if flayed within one hour, and salted, can be made into a number of sheets of vellum valuable to those who scribe uncouth names and write books of unhallowed names. ($50 for page, 1d6 pages per average demon. needs a pound of salt).  Demon flesh is carcinogenic, and it may be somewhat easy to initiate a plague with the contents of their bowels.  The more significant ones have valuable claws, horns, and teeth.

Jareth stops poking around it's internals with a, "Eh, nothin of value in here," and sets about pulling teeth and removing claws.

"We still need to burn it.  Reckon we drag it up upstairs or try to burn it down here?"

OOC:  21:58, Today: Jareth Mooncalled rolled 9 using 3d6.  Removing the demons teeth and claws, Survival 14 (skill 10 + 4 taking extra time).

The disturbing impression leaves Mellarill disturbed for a couple seconds leading her to miss a small part of the conversation. Creepy

OOC: 23:25, Today: Mellarill rolled 12 using 3d6.  Fright Check?
Will of 11 so that's a fail by one. Uh oh...
23:29, Today: Mellarill rolled 7 using 3d6.  Frigth Check result. Plus she failed by one so that comes to 8

She is:

23:31, Today: Mellarill rolled 6 using 3d6.  Snapping out of stun.
