Nodwin is watching with a curious expression on his face, while relaxing against the wall. This conversation seems to have a humerous undertone.

Clarence shakes his head.

"And they say I am strange for a pet spider..." he mutters.

He looks around for some spider food instead...

Jareth looks askance at the last three and then speaks with emphasis, "Yah Ymid, pretty much exactly that... just not living flesh.  Inanimate matter is used on this world."

In reply to Mario Crowfoot (msg # 48):

Oblivious to Mellarill's and Jocelyn's disgust at its attempted questioning of a lock, and rather interested in Mario's demonstration of the use of the tools.

[Private to Mario Crowfoot: you feel nausea as it picks at your mind as you say this, as if he is trying to see what you are thinking as you describe locks.]

It sinks back from the focused hunch you are starting to recognize as "attentive" and makes a rippling gesture that may be a shrug, and once again it images Hand gesture, glowing symbols and script, door rippling away like water as a stone passes through, and Ymid passing through, then door reforming behind ¡Easier!

"Not intraplanar embedding/gate conjuration. Some telepathic activity, in quantity...
also a lifeforce inversion. Atypical, not demi-plane attuned energy transfer, that is common
among the animate but unliving.  Also not transubstantiation of essence, or rejuvenation of material form, something more profound, possibly representing the intervention of a greater
power to effect a both a stasis and an inversion of flow. These events are often a function of impulse, rather than system on the part of such entities. They act with little inclination to conservation of energy..."

Mario shakes his head sharply.  "I hope that made sense to you, Jareth.  I'll stick to archery, or pick the occasional lock.  Mix it up with a staff, if necessary, but that magic stuff makes my head spin.  Or at least I think it's the magic talk that's doing that."

Jareth finally breaks out of his ruminations, "Telepathy?  That don' sound Saturnian to me.  Unless t'ey are under t'e sway of Elder Powers an not an infernal deity.  But that would also support t'e different reports over t'e years, different groups, different beings in charge."

He thinks a moment more.  "I don't ken we got time to drum up volunteers with no a guaranteed payout.  Best we just finish restin up t'en see we find this disturbance ourselves.  We got three stalwart fightin types," he points to Brodak, Charlene, and Clarence, "two o' t'e best archers I ever seen," he gestures at Mel and Mario, "Jocelyn an Nodwin covering t'e magic an godliness, my mind, an Ymid here didn't seem no slouch facin down t'em spoders."

He smiles at the group, "I ken we got this."

"Oh, I don't know about stalwart fighting type...I just hold the light, but maybe finding some cultists for 8-eyes here would be a good thing. In that case, where do we find them?"
