Chou-Zhen likewise waits quietly in his assigned position, resplendent in his lacquered armor with its silk streamers and jade disks.  He keeps his face impassive, neither smiling nor scowling.  His leather whip is coiled at his side, his hands empty.

"Akira Aku No. We have had our disagreements. Never before have you made a formal visit.
I am told that you were wounded. Are you well?"

The part Oni lord rises from the chair and bows. He addresses the Omo with a deep rumbling voice.
"I am indeed well at this time. I understand you have suffered an attack.
  You appear to be in good health.
  I must congratulate you on becoming Master of Funerary Services.
  It was an office I formerly held. May you serve its function well."

I intend to devote some time to the study of the language, that I may find my way
more easily through the labyrinth of their paperwork.

As I have released from service a number of those in my employ, It would appear that
I am able to relocate my entire household to that district.
To properly outfit the property I have acquired there will necessitate considerable material outlay.

The oni waves off his retainers, and enters the sanctum with the three of you.
"I am glad you are not like me, because if you were I, I would expect to meet steel in this room, and my servants to find a bitter taste in what you feed them. We have different ways, you and I, and perhaps it is for the best that we are not so similar."

Iskander is cordial with the visitors, trying to glean any information...

Chou-Zhen, while keeping a watchful eye on Akira Aku No, remains silent and schools his face to a neutral expression.  His queue barely twitches, and his right hand just brushes the handle of his leather whip.

Chye is particularly honored to have been chosen to attend the private meeting.
He knew the Omo had chosen them, for their fearsome and impressive appearances, as well as their effectiveness as personal body guards. Chye didn't cotton to evil, but he knew the value of diplomacy and understood his culture's politics.
He became his mirthful self again, but was disciplined and on guard, all the while...

Ales does as Sakemoko-san has requested. While being extraordinarily hospitable and charitable with Akira's retainers, Ales quietly keeps a look out for any signs of anything signaling ill will from Akira's retainers, a sign that maybe Akira did not come by to ask for  favor. Ales also looks for anything odd, just in case they have some secret plan to attack or are using magic in a less than honorable way.

The servants and musicians seem nervous, the Ashigaru, guardedalthough interested in Numbah Three Son. The dragonmen seem aloof.

The one servant by the Omo's side produces a writing desk, brush pens, ink, and the Omo's jade chop. Akira Aku No produces a series of small scrolls from his robe.

19:43, Today: Tanaka Kojimaru rolled 7 using 3d6.  carousing 13.
When refreshments are supplied, Tanaka lightens the mood and engages in friendly conversation with the retainers. "No hard feelings. It was just business, right? Come, let us drink.."

There is also the matter of contracts for protection of food stalls, two tea houses, and tenancies in six multifamily dwellings, and my monopoly on red dye for paper making. The Omo considers the documents before him, and extends his hand to Miko, who places an abacus into it.
"That is a fair price for the debt, I ask only the same percentage for the market place stall contract, and for the assorted tenancies, for I have viewed the properties, and seen that I must perform repairs upon them. The three warehouses I can see a modest exchanfge on, but I will only pay this much for two, and take the third at no charge, for it is known to be haunted. I will pay you the price of one tea house for the two, I will pay you 5 coins on the string for the paper concern. The pzlace requires considerable repars as well, and I will take it off your hands for two coins on the string, and in exchange, pay your full ask for the shipping concern"

The two exchange papers and chops, which are then rolled cand taked away with the writing desk, after the Omo gives her a writ for cash to be brought from his vault. She returns shortly after with a small lacquered chest, which displays many strings of cash, along with several strings of jade plaques, which you know to be worth two strings of cash each. It is a small fortune, but to get someone like Akira Aku No out of your life, it is cheap at the price.

The Omo orders the doors to be opened, and the Oni bows and gathers his followers.

"Looks like our guest's visit has been concluded. I wonder how this bodes for the rest of us..? We shall soon find out, my friends..."
