Re: Junior House Again
Nodwin is untrained in the ways of magic. However, he has just seen them use this bone gate to enter another realm via a magical door. Being a more flexible thinker, he makes the next logical step in the progression.
"If someone with magical skill could affect the weather as if they were at that castle... Well, someone owns that castle. I expect they probably had the globe made so they could control the weather more easily. Such an item would be very valuable to them. I suspect they are going to want it back, and may come looking for it. Who wants to have it rain if your daughter is going to have a wedding?
The converse might be true too. Perhaps the globe was made by an enemy of the castle owner. I can think of no better way to torture someone than to manipulate the weather over their home. Crops could fail, or the owners could be isolated if the way up was always treacherous with snow and ice. There are so many possibilities. If this were the case, then perhaps both parties might come looking for the object."
Nodwin barely misses a beat as more possibilities come to his mind.
"It seems there must be some sort of magical connection to this castle in the globe. Do you think we could travel to this castle as if it were right next to us? Do you think the globe might house some sort of a door or portal, or could be used to connect one?
Or maybe the castle is some sort of magical sanctuary that doesn't even exist in the real world. Maybe there are people in it right now, magically hiding out from their friends or enemies.
Oooh, what if it's someone's ancestral home that they want to carry along with them? It might have all nature of undead haunting it from past generations...."
Nodwin continues to brainstorm for the next couple minutes, drawing increasingly odd or random connections.
OOC He's a very flexible thinker, which is why he tolerates Jareth so well. And... Potential plot twists. Lots of good ideas for the GM there.
