Both sisters' eyes widen.  "Fire?"  They look at each other.

"Create Water is all we have, Holy Sister.  It's expensive to cast and it has no range or force.

"Christine, can we Lend you Energy?  Ours is from our god, I'm not sure it will help your spells.  Or perhaps Emma knows something that might be more forceful?"

"Thank you. I have a range of spells to deal with fire, including water jet, Resist Fire and Extinguish fire. Lets see if they will be needed...

How easy is it to replace the warding stone?"

Masugatan grins.  No wonder my crotch is so attracted to it.

if the stone has fallen but is intact,a few hours at most... if it is broken it may take weeks.

The elder sister looks at the wounded messenger, and back at Christine.

"I think restoring the ward stone may be more urgent."  She turns to the dragonman warrior.  "How can we help with that?"

the dragonman leads you into the vale, as a blast of flame comes from around the bend.

Christine casts resist fire on herself, and tells Emma to do the same, and then on Masugatans.

"Oh, that!  Come here, Holy Sister."  The elder sister lays her hands on the younger, speaks a few soft words, and traces a circle above her head.

for a moment the younger sister has a corona of flame which explodes into a cloud of smoke and cinders that briefly spell out

Christine watches, and is impressed!

"What was that?"  She looks at her hands in disbelief.

She begins again, this time emphasizing the gestures, even to the point of moving her feet in a complex step pattern, while speaking several strange-sounding words in a clear voice.  This time nothing odd (or weird) happens.

"I'd ask you to do me, now, but I don't think you've learned this one yet.  You can Lend me the Energy instead."

She repeats the entire process, including the emphatic gestures and steps, but tracing the circle over her own head at the proper point.

Once done, she turns back to Christine.  "Thank you for reminding me the god had taught me that.  We're ready now, let's hoof it -- that spell won't last all that long."

She drops her backpack (the younger sister follows suit a second later), and takes off after the dragonman at a jog.
