While this is going on, Dne keeps a very close eye on the beasts.  He’ll call out a warning if they make any move he perceives as threatening.

With the machinery fixed, Jendrich looks out into the darkness, worried something may have noticed the change.

In reply to Virgilio Hohlfeld (msg # 887):

"Perhaps. Or place them at regular intervals...maybe in hard to reach places. Can we fire an arrow into the ceiling with a bright continual light attached, to mark where we need to walk to? Or perhaps our floating mage can cast continual light on stones in the ceiling at various intervals. Bright enough, they should light the way for us nicely."

Re: Trading with Trolls

"I wouldn't worry about someone stealing these lights -- they cost a farthing for the coin, and a small risk to me for each one I make, a risk I'm used to.  I don't know if an arrow would stick in the ceiling here, or just shatter or fall, but we could try that.  I can light the arrow itself, so no need to attach something.

"D'ne casting this spell -- well, I don't know that he knows this one, he seems pretty concentrated in Air and Movement, but also a light this bright is fairly tiring for most mages.  I'm different that way."

In reply to Virgilio Hohlfeld (msg # 889):

"Yes, but putting them up high enables us to make them very bright but also able to move by their light without being so clearly seen or visible, as our shadows will be on the ground and not dancing around the walls. Perhaps you can light stones and he can stick them to the ceiling? Dne?"

Re: Trading with Trolls

the dead siege beasts continue tramping along on the treadmills as the fans flap and the belts creak.

The air begins to move, thankfully, but there is movement from what appear to be archways in the far wall, several of them,
and you can just make out the sounds of smaller feet.

Dne climbs back down to the floor, fearing the goblins may have bows.  When he reaches the party he informs everyone that he doesn’t know any light spells.

The goblins do not carry bows, as Dne can see upon lowering themself.

they part their formation, and an elf like figure in silver chased black brigandine with cat eyes steps out of the gloom
together with a pair of Siege beasts (these are alive)

"H' ah vulgtmnah cahf ymg' mgep.

Re: Trading with Trolls

Virgilio isn't a complete stranger to this sensation (First Years stood rotation as subjects for upperclassmen practicing their spells, and Virgilio was chosen for Mind-Sending) -- so this is bothersome, but not completely unfamiliar.

"He said it's well that we've repaired the fans, as it prevents a 'visit above' -- whatever that is."

To the goblins and the cat-eyed one (the Master?)
